SUMMARY Eskişehir, stands on northwestrn part of th Central Anatolia The river Porsuk and the plain take place in the same part too. According to the 1990 census population, Its poyulation 413.000 Since the begining of the 19. century many migratory from Bal can and Kafkasya has come to Eskişehir. Eskişehir is also situated on the main railways and hight ways which conneet this region to Eagen and Marmara regions. Eskişehir is a commercial and industrial center. According 1985 census population %32 of the working people, have nearly worked manifac- toring industry. The number of people who works in the industrial estab- listment is about 20.000. State interprises have an important role in devoloping industry in Eskişehir. People who have been trained by there interprises cansel industry consiciours of this city. The first interprise has the steam engine faztory in 1894 The main factories which was built in the first year of the republic tiling, food processing and sugar factory. Since the beginning industrial, interprises are focused in the main three division Eskişehir organized industrial district Baksan industry district and the factories spread out in the city Çukurhisar and muttalip are the important industrial districts too. Capital, labors and transport had an important effects in develop ment undustry in Eskişehir, For example the fisrt factories which were built in the first years of the republic nearly depended on the raw meterials. 95
