Özet
Bu tez çalışmasında; halk eğitimi merkezlerinde açılan kurslarda yaşam boyu eğitime yönelik sorunlar ele alınmıştır. Bilgi toplumu sürecinde hayat boyu eğitimin sağlanmasında halk eğitimi merkezlerinin rolünü ortaya çıkarmak araştırmanın temel amacını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın evrenini 2012-2013 eğitim-öğretim yılında Mersin Yenişehir Halk Eğitimi Merkezinde açılan kurslara katılan kursiyerler oluşturmaktadır. Evrenden yansız olarak seçilen çeşitli kurslardan 150 kursiyere halk eğitimi merkezlerinin yaşam boyu eğitim üzerindeki rolünü belirlemek amacıyla veri toplama aracı olarak geliştirilen anket uygulanmış ve SPSS programında verilerin analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda elde edilen bulgulara göre, Yenişehir Halk Eğitimi Merkezi'nde YHEM tanımaya yönelik olarak cinsiyete, yaşa, medeni duruma göre farklılık göstermektedir. Ayrıca Eğitim Öğretim sürecine yönelik bulgular içerisinde yer alan yaşa göre farklılık göstermektedir. Kursiyerler yetişkin eğitiminin, merkezdeki eğitim öğretim sürecinin, merkezin fiziksel imkânlarının genel olarak iyi olduğunu düşünmektedir. Kursiyerler katıldıkları kursu en faydalı kurs olarak görmekte ve kursiyerler arasındaki yaş farkının eğitim öğretimi olumsuz yönde etkilemediğini düşünmektedirler. Kursiyerlerin yaşı ilerledikçe kurs etkinliklerinden beklentilerini karşılama oranları artmaktadır.

At this resarch the problems which are connected at the courses lifelong learning at public education center are considered into. The general aim of the research is to bring out the role of the public education centers for providing the life long education during the information society process. The frame of the study is the participants of the courses, which have been opened during the 2012 – 2013 education year at the Mersin Yenişehir Public Education Center. A survey, which has been developed to collect the data, has been applied to the 150 participants of various courses, which are chosen as being neutral of the frame, in order to determine the role of the public education centers on the life long education and the analysis of the data in the SPSS program. According to the result of the researh, the participation in the courses and the choices for the course subjects at the Yenişehir Public Education Center show differeneation according to the gender, education level and income. In general manner, the participants think that the adult education, the education, the learning process and the physical facilities at the Education Center is good . The participants believe that the most beneficial course subjects are their chosen courses; and the age differences between the participants do not affect the education and training. As the ages of the participants get older the, level of satisfaction from the trainings become better.
