Özet
Üniversite kentleri üniversitelerin gelişim sürecinde sosyal, politik ve ekonomik faktörlerin etkisiyle birçok üniversitenin alan ve yerleşim bölgesi açısından bir araya gelmesi sonucu üniversite ve üniversite çevresindeki bölgeler ile birlikte belli bir boyutta bağımsız bölgeler oluşturmaktadır. Bu bölgelerde ikamet eden insanlar yaşam, eğitim ve çalışma faaliyetlerine devam etmekle birlikte eğitim ve araştırma odaklı küçük kentler oluşturmaktadır. Bunlar ise kent yapısının ve yüksek öğrenimin hızlı gelişmesinin bir sonucu olarak ortaya çıkmakta ve İngilizce

University Town is that some colleges which influenced by society and politics and economy get together in space placement and land arrangement during the development. The place around the university and the university itself come into being a some size independent area which is primarily engaged in teaching and studying. In the area people can do work, study, and some other activities. University Town is the product of city and advanced education development fast. From the scope of the world, University Town is rich in history. It can be traced from the appearance of the western university in modern time. In our country University Town is a new object from about 10 years. It is college collections or college unit collections which have some size and the colleges connect compactly each other, interact with the city where they are. The university towns in China have gained a rapid development in big cities and regions of China within a short period of around ten years. This work scrutinizes the development mode of university towns in China, and consists of five sections. In the first section, the main purpose and topic of this thesis is presented. In the second section, by taking into account the selection of university location and its plan, the models of selection of university location, its relationship with towns, and its settlement plan according to national and global standards are explained. In the third section, the historical development of Chinese universities and the formation process of university town are briefly introduced. In the fourth section, by considering the Chinese university towns? development mode and models, and giving out examples of different university towns, the development mode and models of Chinese university towns are presented. In the fifth section, the difference and similarity between Chinese university towns with those of other countries? are briefly presented.
