Özet
Türkiye'de Bilim Tarihi alanında yapılan çalışmalarla önemli yol kat edilmiştir. Bilim-teknoloji ilişkisi dikkate alındığında, benzer durumun Teknoloji Tarihi alanında da yaşanması beklenirdi. Ancak kaynak taraması göstermiştir ki, günümüze kadar Türkiye'de Teknoloji Tarihi alanında yeterli çalışmalar yapılmamıştır. Bu yetersizlik özellikle Cumhuriyet Dönemi üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda daha bariz şekilde ortaya çıkmıştır. Türkiye'nin bilim ve teknoloji alanında dünya ülkeleri arasında daha üst noktalara gelmesi tüm toplumca arzulanan bir durumdur. Ancak, geçmişin ortaya konulmadan geleceğin planlanması olası değildir. Bu açıdan geçmişin aydınlatılması önemlidir. Bu durum Teknoloji Tarihi alanına tatbik edilecek olursa, özellikle Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nin konu bağlamında aydınlatılması Türkiye Teknoloji Tarihi alanına önemli faydalar sağlayacaktır. Teknolojinin birçok alt dalı bulunmaktadır. Bu açıdan, Cumhuriyet Dönemi için hazırlanacak genel bir Teknoloji Tarihi için öncelikle alt dalların bağımsız çalışılması gerekir. Bu gerekliliğin yerine getirilmesine öncülük yapmak amacıyla hazırlanan bu tezde, İlaç, Petrol ve Kimyevî Gübre Endüstrileri seçilerek bu endüstrilerin her biri bir bölüm altında bağımsız olarak çalışılmıştır.

Significant progress has been achieved in the field of the History of Science studies in Turkey. Taking into account relationship between science and technology, similar situation is expected to occur in the field of History of Technology. However, the literature survey showed that there are no enough studies on the History of Technology of Turkey. This insufficiency is obvious especially in the studies on Republican Period. In the field of science and technology, the arrival of Turkey to a superior point is desirable by society as a whole. However, it is unlikely to plan the future by ignoring the past. Therefore, the enlightenment of the past is important. If a similar idea will be applied to the field of History of Technology, the enlightenment of the Republican Period will provide important benefits for History of Technology of Turkey. There are many sub-branches of technology. Therefore, to prepare a general History of Technology of Republican Period, first sub-branches should be studied independently. To lead the fulfillment of this requirement, Pharmaceutical, Petroleum and Chemical Fertilizer Technologies were studied independently in the sections of this thesis
