Özet
ÖZET Bu çalışma, Frankfurt Okulu'nun düşünsel üretimiyle sanat-toplum ilişkisinin çakıştığı alanı kendisine malzeme olarak alır. Bunun iki nedeni vardır: Birincisi, Frankfurt Okulu'nun düşünce bütünlüğünün en kapsamlı biçimde sanat- toplum ilişkisi bağlamında anlaşılabilir olmasıdır, ikincisi ise, sanat-toplum ilişkisi sorununa getirilmiş en kapsamlı açıklamalardan birinin Frankfurt Okulu tarafından gerçekleştirilmiş oluşudur. Çalışmanın bu noktadan hareketle iki temel tezi vardır, ilki, sanatın içinde bulunduğu toplumun antitezi olarak, verili olanın evrenselliğinin sorgulanmasına ve“öteki”nin verili olan içinde varlığını sürdürebilmesine aracı olduğudur. İkincisi, modern toplumun yapısının, kendisini oluşturan parçalar üzerinde gitgide daha belirgin bir egemenlik kurduğu, genelin tikeli kuşatmışlık düzeyinin giderek artmakta olduğudur. Çalışmanın yöntemi, onun tezlerinin sistematik bir tarzda“toplum”,“sanat”ve“kültür endüstrisi”ana başlıkları altında, Okul düşünürlerinin yapıtlarına dayandırılarak denenmesidir. Bu amaçla ayrıca elden geldiğince geniş bir çerçevede ikincil kaynaklara başvurulmuştur. Bu çalışmada, aynı zamanda, sanat ile toplumun çakıştığı alanın insan olduğu, insanın hem sanat- toplum ilişkisinden etkilenen, bu ilişki tarafından belirlenen bir öge, hem de bu ilişkiyi etkileyebilen, değiştirebilen ve hatta belirleyebilen bir özne olduğu vurgulanmaktadır.

SUMMARY The present study concentrates on the area where the philosophical works of the Frankfurt School coincide with the relationship between art and society. This is due to two basic reason: Firstly, the totality of Frankfurt School's philosophy can be most comprehensively understood within the context of the relationship between art and society. Secondly, one of the most comprehensive answers to the questions on the relationship between art and society has been given by Frankfurt School. The study develops with two main hypotheses based on this. The first is that, art, as the antithesis of its society, is a means both to question the universality of the“given”and to enable the survival of the“other”in what is“given”. The second thesis is that the structure of modem society dominates the parts that constitute itself in an increasingly apparent manner and thus, the general surrounds the particular more and more. The method of this study is to test these hypotheses systemically on the basis of the works of Frankfurt School philosophers under the headings of“society”,“art”and“culture industry”. To this purpose, secondary litterature were also consulted as much as possible. The study also emphasizes that art and society coincide at the human being and therefore, the human being is both an object to the relationship between art and society, and also the subject as well, capable of influ encing, altering and even determining this relationship.
