Özet
Ülkemizde ve dünyada tasarlanmış ve tasarlanmakta olan birçok çocuk kitabı vardır. Gelişen teknik ve yöntemlerle birlikte bu örnekler artmakta ve çocuklar için (öğrenme, eğitim ve eğlence) daha iyi kitaplar tasarlanmaya çalışılmaktadır. Çocuğun ilgisi çekilmeye ve çocuğun görsel ve estetik algısı zenginleştirilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Çocuğun kitaba yönelik ilgisini arttırmak için birçok yöntem vardır. Bu yöntemler çocuğun yaşına göre de değişmektedir. Yöntemlerden bazıları kitaba ses ekleme, doku verme, (tüylü kitaplar, dokulu kâğıtlar vb.) parlak ve renkli kâğıtların kullanımı, kitapla beraber kullanılan oyuncak ve kitabı üç boyutlu hale getirmek gibi malzemeler sayılabilir. Burada sözü edilen pop up üç boyutlu ve hareket verme yöntemi, her yaştan çocuk hatta yetişkinler için dahi etkili bir araçtır. Bu yöntemin görsel açıdan kitaba zenginlik verdiği ve ilgi uyandırdığı düşünülmektedir.Yapılan bu tez çalışmasıyla; ülkemizde pek gelişememiş ama dünyada oldukça geniş kullanımı olan pop up yönteminin ve tekniklerinin açıklanması, ayrıca tasarım ilkeleri açısından ele alınmıştır.Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde pop up uygulamalarının ve çocuk pop up kitabının tarihçesi hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Resimli çocuk kitapları (pop up' ın temelini resimli çocuk kitaplarının oluşturması bakımından) ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca kitapların psikolojik etkileri ve yararları, renklerin önemi ve kitapların içinde yer alan kurgu ve tema konuları açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.İkinci bölümde pop up'ın anlamı, pop up kitap ve çeşitli türleri, pop up teknikleri ve mekanizması ele alınmıştır. Bu teknikler resimlerle açıklanmış ayrıca kağıt mühendisliği açıklanmıştır.Pop up kitap tasarım özellikleri ve pop up kitap örnekleri incelemeleri ve tasarımları ile tasarım sorunları ve pop up kitabın ülkemizdeki sorunları, pop up baskı öncesi ve basım aşaması üçüncü bölümün konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca önceki yüzyıllardan günümüze kadar çalışmaları olan pop up sanatçıları ve ürünleri, incelenmiştir.Tezin uygulama bölümünde araştırmacının yazmış olduğu öykü, tasarım ve çizimlerinden oluşan pop up uygulaması yer almaktadır. Uygulama, değişik teknikler uygulanarak ve açıklamalarla birlikte verilmiştir.

There are many children?s books that were designed and have been designed in our country and in the world. These samples have increased by means of those developing techniques and methods and it has been tried to design better books (learning, education and entertainment) for children. It has been attempted to attract the attention of child and to enrich the visual and aesthetic perception of hers/his. There are a number of methods to enhance the child?s interest towards the book. These methods change according to the child?s age as well. Among some of those methods, adding sound and texture to the book (pile books, textured papers, etc.), the use of glossy and coloured papers, the toy used with the book and the materials, such as making the book three-dimensional, can be included. The pop up three-dimensional and creating movement method is an effective means for the children from all ages, even for the adults. It has been considered that this method visually enriches the book and arouses interest.With this thesis study, it has been approached to the explanation of the pop up method and its techniques, which has a very wide use in the world though it has not developed in our country, as well as regarding the design principles.In the first part of the study, an information has been given about the pop up applications and the history of children?s pop up book. Children?s picture books (in the sense that the children?s picture books form the basis of pop up) have been discussed. Moreover, the psychological effects and benefits of the books, the importance of colours, the fiction and theme subjects found in the books have been tried to explain.In the second part, the meaning of the pop up, the pop up book and its varieties, the pop up techniques and mechanism have been discussed. These techniques have been explained through pictures, besides paper engineering has been defined.Pop up book design qualities and pop up book samples reviews and designs as well as design problems and the problems of pop up book in our country, pop up prepress and printing process compose the subject of the third part. Furthermore, pop up artists and their products who have works from previous centuries to these days, have been analyzed.There is the pop up application comprising the story written by the researcher, design and drawings in the application part of the thesis. The application has been given by applying different techniques together with explanations.
