Özet
`Fotoğrafta Toplumsal Belgeselden Kişisel Belgesele Geçiş Süreci Ve Kişisel Belgeciler' adlı bu çalışma ile; fotoğrafın icadından, günümüze kadar, odak noktasına insanı yerleştiren bir yaklaşımla gerçekleştirilen belgesel fotoğrafın geçirdiği dönüşüm; sanat tarihi, felsefe, psikoloji, fotoğraf tarihi ve sosyal bilimsel verilerden yararlanılarak, bu sürecin yorumlanması ve belirli tespitlerde bulunulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde, fotoğrafın icadına zemin hazırlayan Sanayi Devrimi'nin önemi ve bu hareketin beraberinde getirdiği modernleşme sürecinin, ekonomik ve politik etkilerinin toplumsal yapıda yarattığı değişimle birlikte toplumsal belgesel fotoğrafın ortaya çıkışı, amacı ve sağladığı insani yararlara değinilmiştir. Kişisel belgesel fotoğrafın konu edildiği ikinci bölümde, moderniteden, postmoderniteye geçişin nedenleri ortaya konularak, 20. yüzyılın postmodernist tavrının sanatsal faaliyetlere yansıması ve öznellik kuramları açısından, sanatçının yaratım sürecinde öz kimliğinin önemi vurgulanmış; bu yaklaşımla işler üreten fotoğrafçılar ve çalışmalarına değinilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise, toplumsal ve kişisel belgesel fotoğrafların kendilerine özel yaklaşımları dikkate alınarak; seçilen fotoğraflar üzerinden karşılaştırmalı bir okuma gerçekleştirilmiş ve fotoğrafçının öznel yaklaşımını kendi var oluşu üzerinden kurması ile kendisini bir gözlemci olarak konumlandırması arasındaki farkların fotografik yansımaları yorumlanmıştır.

In this study titled ?The Process of Transition from Social Documentary to Personal Documentary in Photography?, it is being aimed to annotate and to make definite findings about the transformation of the documentary photography which focuses on human beings since the invention of photography until today; with the help of data from history of art, philosophy, psychology, history of photography and social sciences. The first section of the study deals with the importance of the Industrial Revolution that laid the groundwork for the invention of photography and the emergence of the social documentary photography due to the change in the social structure created by the economic and political effects of the process of modernization brought about by this movement. It also elaborates on its significance and the humane benefits. The following section which addresses the personal documentary photography, introduces the ground of the transition from modernity to post-modernity, therefore highlights the significance of the artist?s self-identity during the creative process in the light of 20th century postmodernist attitude reflected in artistic activities and the theories of subjectivity. The works of the photographers who embrace this approach are mentioned. The third section deals with the specific approaches of the social and personal documentary photography, carries out a comparative reading of selected photos and comments on the photographic reflections of the distinction between two cases where a photographer builds a subjective approach based on his/her own existence or positions himself/herself as a mere observer.
