Ebû Zeyd ed-Debûsî's hadit understanding in the frame of the trace named El-Esrâr Fi'l-Usûl ve'l-Furu', PhD Thesis, supervised by İsmail Hakkı ÜNAL, Ankara University, 2008, VI+ 296 pages. Keys Words: Hilaf, Sunna, tradition, report, famous report, Garib report, mutevatır report, makbul report, Mustenker report, zuyûf report. The thesis consists of ıntroduction, three main chapters and Rasult. In the ıntroductions part, the historical place Where ed-Debûsî lived, his traceses and his hadit formatıon were discussed. His trace el-Esrâr was ıntroduced and assessed. In the first part ed-Debûsî's view to circumcision and reports, classification of reports which he acceptet (Mütevâtir, meşhûr, garîb Makbûl) and he didn't accept (garîb müstenker, merdud, şâz, zayıf, metruk, zuyûf, batıl) were inspected and assessed. In the scond part It was discussed ed-Debûsî's understanding of his method on reports. In this part ıt was ınspected that his assesment of reports with presentinğ to times condisions in the view of content to the Kur'ân, meşhûr reports, Makbûl reports, sahabî consensus and language rules. In the third part the sources and healt of hadit in el-Esrâr were classified and assessed. The criticisms made by es-Sem?ânî and el-Gazâlî against ed-Debûsî were assesseed. In the assessment and Rasult part the the contributions of ed-Debûsî's method of understanding and assesment of hadit to the enlightment of scientific world. A short assessment of criticism againts ed-Debûsî himself and his method was made.
