Özet
Araştırma, ortaöğretim kurumlarında çalışan rehber öğretmenlerin hemşirelik mesleğine ilişkin algılarını belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel nitelikte planlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2008?2009 eğitim öğretim döneminde, İstanbul ili resmi ve özel ortaöğretim kurumlarında çalışan 165 rehber öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında rehber öğretmenlerin sosyo-demografik özelliklerini ve hemşirelik mesleğine ilişkin algılarını belirlemek amacıyla iki bölümden oluşan bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler, Number Cruncher Statistical System & Power Analysis and Sample Size Statistical Software paket programı, ortalama, standart sapma, frekans, Oneway Anova testi, Tukey HDS testi, Student t test, Mann Whitney U, güvenilirlik analizinde Cronbach's alpha katsayısı ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada rehber öğretmenlerin büyük bir kısmının hemşirelik mesleğine ilişkin algılarının olumlu olduğu, hemşirelik mesleğine ilişkin algı puan ortalamaları ile yaşları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunduğu ve 40 yaş ve üzerinde olan rehber öğretmenlerin daha olumlu algıya sahip olduğu saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik mesleğini önerirken öğrencilerin liderlik özelliğine sahip olması gerektiğini düşünen ve düşünmeyen rehber öğretmenler ile algı puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunduğu ve öğrencilerin liderlik özelliğine sahip olması gerektiğini düşünen rehber öğretmenlerin daha olumlu algıya sahip olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, rehber öğretmenlerin büyük bir kısmının hemşirelik mesleğine ilişkin algıları olumludur.

This cross-sectional-descriptive research was planned for the purpose of determining high school counselors? perceptions of nursing. The research was conducted during the 2008?2009 Academic Year at the public and private secondary school institutions in Istanbul with 165 high school counselors. In the data collection an Information Form including social-demographic characteristic and perceptions of nursing was used. The data were analyzed on NCSS&PASS, using number, percentage, mean, Cronbach Alpha, Oneway Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Tukey HSD Test, Student t Test, Mann Whitney U. In this study the majority of high school counselors? perceptions of nursing were positive. Significant statistical differences were found between mean scores and ages of counselors, and high school counselors over 40 years old were determined to have more positive perceptions. A statistically significant difference was found between the counselors who thought leadership as a required qualification for nursing and those who did not, and the mean perception scores. It was found that the counselors favoring leadership of students had more positive perceptions. In conclusion, it can be said that the majority of high school counselors? perceptions of nursing were positive.
