Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı yazma etkinliklerinin ilköğretim I. kademe öğrencilerinin matematik başarılarına ve tutumlarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Denizli il merkezinde bulunan Müftü Ahmet Hulusi İlköğretim Okulu'nun 4-C ve 4-D şubeleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma ön test ? son test kontrol gruplu deneme modelinde bir araştırmadır. Yazma etkinliklerinin öğrencilerin matematik başarısındaki ve tutumundaki etkililiğini saptamak için deney ve kontrol grupları oluşturulmuştur. Deney grubunda yazma etkinlikli ders planları, kontrol grubunda ise yazma etkinliği içermeyen ders planları kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada deney ve kontrol gruplarına deneysel işlemler başlamadan önce, deneysel işlemlerin sonunda dördüncü sınıf ?Kesirler? konusu ile ilişkili 11 maddelik başarı testi ve 20 maddelik matematik dersi tutum ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri SPSS 11.5 paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Analizlerin anlamlılık düzeyi 0,05 olarak alınmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde; ortalama, standart sapma, t-testi ve pearson korelasyon tekniği kullanılmıştır.Sonuç olarak yazma etkinlikli ders planı uygulanan deney grubunda da yazma etkinliklerinin uygulanmadığı kontrol grubunda da öğrencilerin başarılarının arttığı görülmüştür. Fakat deney grubunun matematik başarı testi son testi ile kontrol grubunun matematik başarı testi son testi arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Bu farklılık deney grubu lehinedir. Yazma etkinliklerinin öğrenci başarısına etkisinin cinsiyet ile ilişkisinde anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Yazma etkinlikli ders planının uygulandığı deney grubu ile yazma etkinliklerinin uygulanmadığı kontrol grubunun matematik dersine yönelik tutumlarında anlamlı bir farklılık yoktur. Cinsiyetlere göre de matematik dersine yönelik tutumlarda farklılık bulunamamıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin tutumları ile başarıları aralarında bir ilişkiye rastlanmamıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of writing activities on achievement and attitude of students for mathematics in primary education level. The sample of the research consists of 4/C and 4/D classes in Müftü Ahmet Hulusi Elementary School located in the center of Denizli Province. The research model is pretest- post test experimental design with control group. Experimental and control groups have been formed in order to determine the effectiveness of writing activities on achievement and attitude of students for mathematics. Lesson plans including writing activity has been implemented in the experimental group while one that not including writing activity has been applied to the control group. An achievement test having 11 items related to the subject of ?Fractions? for 4th class and an attitude scale having 20 items for mathematics lesson were applied to students before starting of the experimental processes and at the end of the experimental processes. The data of the research have been analyzed via SPSS 11.5 package program. The significance level of the analyses has been taken as 0.05. Average, standard deviation, t-test and Pearson-correlation technique have been used during the analysis of data.In conclusion, it has been observed that achievements of the students increased both in the experimental group in which a lesson plan with writing activity was applied and in the control group in which writing activities were not applied. However, a significant difference has been found between the post test for the mathematics achievement of the experimental group and post test for mathematics achievement of the control group. This difference is in the favor of the experimental group. A significant difference has not been found for gender relationship with the effect of writing activities on student achievement. There is also no significant difference in the attitudes towards mathematics lesson for the experimental group in which a lesson plan with writing activity was applied and the control group in which writing activities were not applied. Any difference has also been found in the attitudes towards mathematics lesson in terms of gender. In addition, no relationship has been observed between the attitudes and achievements of students.
