Özet

Bu arastırmanın amacı, ilkögretim 4. ve 5. sınıflarda görev yapan sınıfögretmenlerinin Sosyal Bilgiler ögretiminde kullandıkları yöntemleri ve karsılasılansorunları belirlemektir. Arastırma betimsel yöntemlerden ?Okul Survey? yöntemi ilegerçeklestirilmistir.Arastırma Nigde il merkezi, ilçe merkezleri ile bu merkezlere baglı 42kasaba ve köy ilkögretim okullarının 4. ve 5. sınıflarında görevli 210 ögretmen ilegerçeklestirilmistir. Ögretmenlerin seçilmesinde ?tesadüfî örnekleme yöntemi?kullanılmıstır.Arastırmada kullanılan veriler; kisisel bilgi formu, Ögretim YöntemleriniKullanma Düzeyi Ölçegi, Yöntem Seçiminde Karsılasılan Sorunlar Ölçegi isimli 3bölümden olusan anket formunun ögretmenlere uygulanmasıyla ve uygulamaesnasında ögretmenlerle yapılan görüsmeler ile toplanmıstır. Arastırmada eldeedilen veriler 7 degiskene göre degerlendirilmistir. Verilerin analizinde SPSS forWindows 10 istatistik programı kullanılmıstır. Bu program ile Frekans veYüzdelikler, Bagımsız Gruplarda ki Ortalamanın Karsılastırması, Varyans Analizi,Anova Testi hesaplanmıstır.Arastırmanın sonucunda, ögretmenlerin Sosyal Bilgiler ögretiminde 17 adetögretim yöntemini yer, zaman ve gerekli duruma göre degisik düzeylerdekullandıkları belirlenmistir. Bu yöntemler içerisinde Soru- Cevap, Problem Çözmeve Düzanlatım yöntemleri ögretmenlerin Sosyal Bilgiler ögretiminde en fazlakullandıkları yöntemlerdir. Gözlem Gezisi yöntemi ise en az tercih ettikleriyöntemdir. Ögretmenlerin Sosyal bilgiler derslerinin ögretiminde kullanılacakyöntemin belirlenmesi ve uygulanmasında, sınıf mevcudunun kalabalık olusu,yöntem hakkında yeterli teorik bilgiye sahip olmayıs, gerekli araç ve ögretimmateryali eksikligi, ögretim materyallerini etkili kullanamayıs, gerek duyulan aileçevredesteginin bulunmayısı, sınıfın fiziki sartlarının uygun olmayısı, ders içinayrılan sürenin yetersiz olusu, çevresel sartların yetersizligi ve uygun olmayısı,ögrencinin derse karsı ilgisizligi-isteksizligi, idari ve çevre desteginin olmayısı gibifaktörlerin her bir yöntemin seçimini farklı düzeylerde etkiledigi belirlenmistir.Bu sonuçlar ısıgında; daha etkili bir Sosyal Bilgiler egitimi yapılabilmesiiçin hizmetiçi egitim kurslarının daha islevsel hale getirilmesi, Sosyal Bilgiler dersiiçin özel donanımlı sınıfların düzenlenmesi, 4. ve 5. sınıflarda branslasmayagidilmesi, aile ve okul isbirliginin arttırılması, okullarda bir bakıma danısmanlıkyapacak egitim programları ve ögretim konusunda uzman bir kisiningörevlendirilmesi önerileri getirilmistir.

The aim of this study is to determine the methods and the confrontingproblems of the teacher?s working in the primary school?s 4th and 5th classes in theeducation of Social Studies. The research is carried out with ?School Survey?method from the descriptive methods.The research is carried out with 210 teachers who are on duty in primaryschool?s 4th and 5th classes in Nigde city centre, district centers, and 42 towns andvillages bound. ?Random Sampling Method? is used in selecting the teachers.Data used in this research is gotten by applying questionnaire formconsisting of three parts; personal info form, the scale of the level of ability to usethe teaching methods, the scale of the problems encountered when deciding on themethods and by interviews made with the teachers during the application of thequestionnaires. The data gotten from the scales are evaluated according to 7different variables. SPSS for Windows 10 statistics program is used during theanalysis of data. By means of this program; frequency (f) and percentages (%) arecalculated and the comparison of two median in independent groups, varianceanalysis and Anova tests are done.In the end of the survey, it is designated that the teachers use 17 teachingmethods in different levels according to their place, time and neccessity. Question-Answer Drills, Problem Solving and Just Telling are the mostly used methods inteaching Social Studies. Observation excursions are the least preferred method. Indetermining and applying the methods that will be used in Social Studies lessons, itis noticed that factors like; crowded classes, not having sufficient theoreticalknowledge about methods, deficiency of necessary teaching materials, can?t usingthe teaching materials effectively, lack of family-vicinity support, unavailablephysical conditions of the class, inadequate time for the lessons, insufficientenvironmental conditions, lack of student?s interest and willingness, and lack ofadministrative support.According to these results, in order to do more effective Social Studieseducation, some proposals are put forward, such as; in-service training coursesshould be more functional, well equipped classes should be arranged, branching inthe 4th and 5th classes, cooperation between the family and school should beincreased, programmes that can do counseling or assigning an expert .
