VI - SÜMMARY The typieal Med'iterranean C'lirnate wh1ch 1s very höt and d r y in s u inme P, and coo'l and r a in y in winter, prevails a 'l“! long t h© coast between Antalya and Fethiye wh1ch are both affected by the sea arıd in the val'leys of Esen, Demre, Karasu rivulats in Teke side of Antalya sectlon of iviediterranean Regı”on. in thls arsa, mean annlua'l tempsrature does not fail be“Iow 18.0 ”C. Ternperature in January is above 9,0“C and tenıperature in Ju'ly, the hottest month, 1s 2”f-28“C. Although the Medlter-ranean Climate 1:-s fe'lt in the area whîeh Is pörtlaTly ör comp'tete'ly f o r away f rom the effect of the sea, in su'mrner it is not; as very höt and dry &$ in the coast and in the w1nter,ifc is mosfcly snowy rather than rainy. Here the morphographic properties of this area shou'ld be high ”lighted t:or this difference between the coast and the in'land. Auturnn is generally the second hottest season in Teke Side. Spring is coo'ler because the rainfaTI period most'ly“tosts till April, which causess the teınperature to decrease, The frostly days in the coast can on ”l y be seen on“l y önce ör twince in Decernber and Janusry. However, thö rainfall amount; deoreases to 400~600rnnı and cont inental i ty is partially f el t since the rncinner that the rnountains extend obstructs the mow©ment: of depressions. Futher nıore, the balance sheet prepared according to T hor n t hu/a 1ta shows that the soil in both cocistöl area and inland is saturated in winter ınonths Owing yo very strong evapotranspration the soll lacks water a f ter May and the dry period starts and continues until Octobar. CharacteristIcs of the climate p'lay an irnportant role onnatura! environment and human beings. The e!lmatfâ affects every step of a'ltltude in the case of the dlstrlbutlon of natura! plant cover.
