SUMMARY The research area is the İsparta Plain and its near region. This plain is in central position of the research area and is limited Burdur and Eğirdir Lake from west» the Senirkent Plain from north and the Ağlasun Stream from south. Here» there are three big maun tains which separete this plain and depressions. The Barla Mauntain is in the north» the Davras Mauntain is in the southeastern part. Those results are got at the end of this research: -There are four correded surfaces here. One of them is the highest which is on about 2000-2200 meters and belongs to the Middle Miocene. The second is about on 1500-1700 meters and belongs to the Upper Miocene. These two surfaces ar torn and stepped by tectonic events. The Upper Pliocene surface is between 1150-1250 meters. However the filling surface of the Lower Pleis tocene is between 1050-1100 meters. -The İsparta Plain was covened with the lakes in the Middle Pleistocene. -The glaciers are formed on the high shapes of the maun tains in Pleistocene also and snow limits were about 2400-2450 meters on Barla and Davras Mauntains. -There is a volcanic unity which is Pliocene aged in the southwestern part of the area. The center of this volcanic ac tivity is in Gölcük which is a caldera and formed by collapse event. 163
