Özet

Araştırmanın amacı, Yetişkin Okuma ? Yazma kurslarına yeni başlayan kadınlarla, kursa katılıp okur-yazar olmuş 2. kademe kurslara devam eden kadınlar arasındaki kurs öncesi ve kurs sonrası hayata bakış, düşünce ve davranışlarda farklılık olup olmadığını araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın evreni, çeşitli nedenlerle okula gidememiş, okuryazar olmayan yetişkinlere yönelik okuma-yazma eğitimi kurslarına katılan kadınlardır. Örneklem grubumuz Maltepe ilçesi gecekondu bölgesinde yaşayan iki farklı gruptan oluşmaktadır. Birinci grup okuma yazma eğitimine yeni başlayanlar, ikinci grup okuma yazma eğitimini bitirmiş üst aşamaya geçmiş, 2. Kademe Eğitime yeni başlayanlardır. Araştırdığımız farklılık umutsuzluk, sosyal karşılaştırma, kendini değerlendirme ölçekleri ve kişisel bilgi anketleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca katılımcı gözlem yönteminden yararlanılarak kadınların niçin okula gitmedikleri, kursa katıldıktan sonra yaşamlarında neyin/nelerin değiştiği sorularına yanıt aranmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS programı kullanılmıştır. İstatistikî hesaplar Excel programında yapılmıştır. Araştırmamıza katılan iki grup arasında eğitimi önemsemeleri açısından farklılık bulunmuştur. Birinci grup okuma yazma eğitimine katılarak, XV ayaklarının üzerinde durmak açısından önemli bir adım atmıştır. İkinci grup ise okuma yazma eğitimini bitirdikten sonra bununla yetinmeyip bir üst aşama eğitime başlamış gruptur. Üst aşamaya devam eden ve araştırmamızın ikinci grubunu oluşturan kadınları incelediğimizde eşlerinin eğitim düzeyinin ve ekonomik durumunun birinci gruba göre daha üst düzeyde olduğu fark edilmektedir. Bu durum kadının eğitiminde eş - çevre etkeninin ve ekonomik koşulların destekleyici nitelik taşıdığını düşündürmektedir. Bir diğer etken ikinci grup kadınların yaşının birinci gruptan daha ileri olmasıdır. Bu da ileri yaş kadınların çocuklarını büyütmüş, geleneksel hayat içinde kendisini kanıtlamış, kendi başına karar verebilme gücünü bulduğunu düşündürmektedir. Sonuçta kadının eğitim sorununun erkeğin eğitilmesi ile aşılacağı düşünülmektedir.

The purpose of the research is to diagnose whether there is a change in the world views, ideas and attitudes of the women newly attending the Literacy courses and the women who have acquired literacy from these courses and now attending the 2. level of the course. The illeterate women attending literacy courses, are at the center of this research. The experimental group is composed of two different sub-groups living in the slum area at Maltepe. The first group is newly starting the literacy course. However the second group has completed the basic literacy course and started the second level courses. The differences between the groups will be assessed through despair, social comparison and self-assessment scales and personal information surveys. In addition to these through participant observation surveys, the questions; ?Why didn?t these women go to school??, ?What are the changes in their lives after attending the courses?? will be answered. For the data analysis, SPSS programme was used. The statistical calculations was made in Excel programme. There is a difference between the two groups in considering the importance of education. The first group, took a giant step forward to stand on their own legs by attending the course. On the other hand the second group, had completed the literacy course but didn?t let it go at that and started an XVII upper level of education. The educational and economic status of the husbands of the women in the second group, are superior to the husbands of the women in the first group. The difference shows that the support of the husbands and the surrounding besides the economic conditions have supportive role in the education of the women. Another distinguishing factor is that the women in the second group are older than the first group. Through this factor, it can be stated that the older women who have raised their children and who have proved themselves within the traditional life, have the courage to make decisions on their own. As a conclusion, it can be stated that the women?s education problem can be overcome through education the men.
