Özet

Bu çalışmada; İlköğretim 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin ?Özdeşlikler? konusu erişilerine görselleştirmenin etkisi incelenmiştir.Araştırmanın deneysel çalışması, 2007-2008 eğitim ve öğretim yılı ikinci döneminde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın çalışma grubunu, Hatay Kırıkhan Beş Temmuz İlköğretim Okulu'nda iki ayrı sınıftaki toplam 50 ilköğretim 8.sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur.Araştırmada ?Özdeşlikler? konusu kontrol grubunda var olan öğretim yöntemiyle, deney grubunda ise görselleştirilmiş matematik öğretimi kullanılarak işlenmiştir. Bu araştırmada, kontrol gruplu ön test-son test deneysel deseni uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan ?Özdeşlikler Başarı Testi?nin, ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmasıyla toplanmıştır.Veri analizinde ?bağımlı örneklemler t-testi? ve ?bağımsız örneklemler t-testi? kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; görselleştirilmiş matematik öğretimi kullanılarak öğrenim gören deney grubu öğrencileri ?Özdeşlikler? konusunu öğrenmede var olan öğretim yöntemiyle öğrenim gören kontrol grubu öğrencilerinden daha başarılı olmuşlardır; elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda; Matematik dersinde görselleştirmeyi kullanmanın başarıyı artırması bakımından var olan öğretim yöntemine göre daha etkili bir yöntem olduğu söylenebilir.

In this study, it is investigated that the impacts of visualization in mathematics on the understanding of the eighth grade students about the subject of ?Identities?.The survey at this study was made in the second term at 2007-2008 academic year. The work group of this study was constituted by the eighth grade students who are at two different classes in Kırıkhan Beş Temmuz Primary School in Hatay. And the total number of students was 50.In the survey, while the subject of the ?Identities? is applied to control group by the way of traditional method of instruction, the same subject is applied to experiment group by the way of visualization. In this fieldwork, the pattern of pre-test and post-test has been applied to the control group and experiment group. Then the data of the research was collected by using the success test of ?Identities? prepared by the researchers as pre-test and post-test.In the analysis of data, t-tests of dependent samples and t-tests of independent samples have been used. As a result of the survey in the subject of ?the Identities?, the students of experimental group who are taught by the visualization are more successful than the students who are taught by the usage of traditional teaching methods; according to the obtained findings; it can be said that the visualization in the teaching of Mathematics is a more effective method than the traditional teaching methods in terms of increasing the success in Mathematics.
