In my tftSsîs I tried to establish the relationship "between aspirin, other drugs and hemorrhage in a total of 522 patients (10,12 % of the Whole patients during six years) in whom opper gastrointestinal hemorrhage had been diagnosed in our clinic between 1977 and 1982* 298 patients (57,08 %) of the total 522, had ingested drugs before admission to the hospital. 42,1 % of this (221 cases) formed aspirin ingesting group. In 174 patients (33,38 %) of 298, radiologic lesion had been found, in 124 patients (23,70 %) no lesion was found. Remaining 224 patients did not receive any drug before hemorrhage. In 275 of 522 patients with hemorrhage duodenal ulcus were diagnosed in radiologic examination. 128 patients of this 275 (46,96 %) ingested drug before hemorrhage. 33,82% of this (275 cases) formed aspirin ingesting group. 50 % of the 20 patients with gastric til cer had taken drug before hemorrhage. 84,3 % of 147 patients in whom no radiologic lesion were found, had received drug before hemorrhage. Aspirin constituted 65,3 % in this group. 25 patients of 522 died. 60% of them had ingested drug before hemorrhage (aspirin in 8 cases, 32%) , this group formed by 16 men(64%) ,and 9 women(36?t). 92 % of the deaths were pa tients who were older than 45 years.
