Özet
ÖZET YENİ FOÇA KENTSEL SİT ALANI İÇİNDE DOKU ARAŞTIRMASI, KORUMA VE RESTORASYON ÖNERİLERİ Yeni Foça, ülkemizde son yıllarda yaşanan hızlı değişim ve gelişimlerden etkilenen kıyı kentlerimizden bi ridir. Bu yörede turizm amaçlı eylemlerin gelişmesi, endüstri gelişiminin yöre sınırlarını dahi aşması, plansız bir kentleşmenin hızlanması sonucu, tarihi ve doğal değerler zarar görmektedir. Yeni Foça kentsel sit alanı dokusunu, tarih içinde gelişimini incelemeyi, bu dokuyu oluşturan bina tiplerini ve bunların mimari karakterlerini belirlemeyi, ve eski Okul binası için koruma ve restorasyon önerisi ge tirmeyi amaçlayan, bu Restorasyon anabilimdalı Yüksek Lisans tezi beş (5) bölümden oluşmaktadır. 1. Bölümde; Yeni Foça kentine kimliğini kazandıran coğrafi, tarihi ve sosyo-ekonomik özellikler araştırılmaktadır. 2. Bölümde; Yeni Foça kentinin bugünkü şehir formu ve bu şehir formunun oluşumuna etki eden etkenler incelenmektedir. 3. Bölümde; 19.yy. ve 20.yy.lar arasında Yeni Foça şehir dokusunun gelişimi ve bu dokuyu oluşturan yerleşim bölgeleri ele alınmıştır. 4. bölümde; Yeni Foça'da 12.yy.ın sonu ve 20.yy.ın başında oluşan bina tiplerinin ve mimarilerinin, özellikle konut mimarisi üzerinde yoğunlaşacak şekilde değerlendirmeleri yapılmıştır. Son olarak 5. bölümde ise; Yeni Foça'nın önemli binalarından Okul Binası için hazırlanan bir koruma ve restorasyon projesi yer almaktadır.

SUMMARY Within the Urban Conversational area, Yeni Foça is one of the coastal towns which is directly affected by the rapid development of our country in recent years. The development of tourism and consequently the touristic investments, and the expanding industry around this area caused an unestimated rapid urbanisation. As the result the historical and natural treasures of the area has been badly affected. This MSc thesis in the department of Restoration aimed to observe the historical development of the pattern of the Urban Conservataional Area in Yeni Foça and investigate the building types and their architectural characteristics that constituted this pattern. Meanwhile, it was also aimed to bring out a conservation and restoration proposal for the former School Building. This thesis is constituted of five (5) main chapters as following; In Chapter One; geographical, historical and socio-economic characteristics that make up the identity of the town are studied. In Chapter Two; the present urban pattern of Yeni Foça and the factors that brought up this pattern are studied. In Chapter Three; development of the urban pattern between 13th and 20th. Centuries and the settlements which had established in this era are investigated. In Chapter Four; the building types and the architecture, especially the housing architecture, of Yeni Foça between 19th and 20th Centuries, is looked into detail. Finally, Chapter Five is a conservation and restoration proposal with a project for the former School Building of Yeni Foça.
