Özet

ÖZET Bu araştırmanın amacı, drama yöntemiyle ingilizce kelime öğreniminin başarısına etkisini incelemektir. Bu çalışma aynı zamanda geleneksel öğretim teknikleri ile drama tekniği arasında karşılaştırma yapma olanağı sağlamaktadır. Bu araştırma deney ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 70 Öğrenci Özerinde yürütülmüştür. Deney grubunda konular drama yöntemi kullanılarak, kontrol grubunda ise öğretmen tarafından geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri kullanılarak anlatılmıştır. Ders anlatımı deney grubunda araştırmacı tararından yürütülmüştür. Her iki gruba da uygulama başında ön- test, uygulama sonunda ise son-test uygulanmıştır ve veriler t-testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde çalışmayla ilgili önbilgi, çalışmanın amacı, problemin sunumu, çalışmada kullanılan yöntem ve sınırlılıklar belirtilmiştir. Bir sonraki bölüm, dramanın tanımı, dramanın tarihi, dramanın öğretim ve öğrenimle birlikte kullanılması ve drama stratejileri hakkında bilgi vermektedir. Üçüncü bölümde, dil öğretim metodları ve yaklaşımları bahsedilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde, drama aktiviteleri ve oyunlarından bahsedilmiştir. Beşinci bölümde, kelime ve kelime öğretimi hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Altıncı bölümde, deneysel çalışma açıklanmış ve sonuçlar tablo yorumuyla birlikte verilmiştir. Son olarak, sonuç bölümünde özet, bulgular ve öneriler yer almaktadır.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of using drama method on achievement in teaching English vocabulary. This study also provides an opportunity to compare traditional teaching and teaching vocabulary through using drama method. The study has been carried out on two groups, experimental and control, including 70 students. In the experimental group the lesson is taught through using drama method and the teacher has taught the units by using traditional teaching methods in the control group. Teaching activities have been carried out by the researcher. Both of the groups have been pre tested at the beginning and post-tested at the end of the study and the data has been analyzed by t-test. In the first chapter, the general background to the study, the goal and scope of the study, the statement of the problem, method of the study and limitations are introduced. The next chapter gives information about the definition and history of drama, the usage of drama method in education and drama teaching strategies. The third chapter includes major methods and approaches. In the fourth chapter, some of the activities for students, such as games and drama activities are introduced. In the fifth chapter, vocabulary and vocabulary teaching are introduced. In the sixth chapter, the design of the experimental study is explained and the results of the study are given through the interpretation of the tables. In the conclusion part, the summary, findings and suggestions are presented.
