ABSTRACT The aim of this thesis is to present a critical survey of both positivist and post - positivist philosophy of science and to explicate the main tenets of post - positivist philosophy of science. The study mainly focuses on the works of Popper, Lakatos, Hanson, Kuhn and Feyerabend.
