Özet
Atatürk'ün üniversite reformu çerçevesinde Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi heykel bölümünü yeniden yapılandırmak üzere ülkemize davet edilen Rudolf Edwin Belling, 20. yüzyılın öncü heykeltraşknndandır. Nazi flctidannca dışlanan modern yapıtlar üretmesi ve sanat politikalarına ters düşmesi nedeniyle, sanat yapma olanaklarından yoksun bırakıldığı Hitler Almanyası'ndan ayrılarak yurdumuza gelmiştir. Tezin amacı, Rudolf Edwin Belling'in ülkemizdeki geçmişi çok az okn heykel eğitimine katkılarının tartışılmasıdır. Araştırma, Belling'in karşılaştığı çeşitli güçlüklere rağmen Akademi heykel bölümünde yürürlükte olan tekdüze eğitim sistemini yeniden organize ederek farklı bir yaprya oturtabildiğim göstermiştir. Hazırladığı programın, günümüzde de uygulanmakta olan disiplinin teorik ve teknik temelini oluşturması nedeniyle Çağdaş Türk Heykel Sanatı eğitimine katkılarının yadsmamayacağının belirlendiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Belling Atölyesinden yetişen sanatçılarımız ise; Yaptıkları anıt ve heykellerle yurt içinde bu sanatın benimsenmesine katkıda bulunurlarken, çağdaş heykel alanında uluslararası platformlarda da sesimizi duyurmayı başarmışlardır.

In the frame of Atatürk' s University reform, Rudolf Edwin Belling, who was invited to our country, to restructure the sculpture department of Academy of Fine Arts, is one of the leading artists of the 20th century. He came to our country from Nazi Germany in which he was deprived of the possibility of producing art works since he produced modern art works, which were not accepted by the Nazi government and he stood out of current art politics. The aim of this thesis is to discuss the contributions of Belling to sculpture education which has quite a new past in our country. This investigation shows that despite the difficulties Belling faced, he was able to restructure the monotonous educational system and change it into a new discipline. The program which was prepared by Belling is still applied today, because this is the theorical and technical basis of the discipline. It can be understood that the contributions of Belling to contemporary Turkish sculpture cannot be underrated. Artists who were educated in Belling Studio made people take up this art branch seriously in our country by means of their sculpture. Along with that, they were able to be recognised as contemporary sculptors in the international platform.
