ÖZET Doktora Tezi ORTAÖĞRETİM MATEMATİK DERSİ PROGRAMININ HEDEFLERİNE ULAŞABİLME DÜZEYLERİNİN ÖĞRENCİ BAŞARILARI VE ÖĞRETMEN GÖRÜŞLERİ DOĞRULTUSUNDA DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ Nur SIRMACI Atatürk Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Matematik Anabilim Dalı Danışman: Prof. Dr. Rahim OCAK Bu araştırmada, Ortaöğretim dokuzuncu, onuncu ve onbirinci sınıf Matematik Dersi Programlarının hedeflerine ulaşabilme düzeyleri, öğrenci başarılan ve öğretmen görüşleri doğrultusunda değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç çerçevesinde, Lise Matematik Ders Programındaki Hedefler incelenmiş ve hedefler doğrultusunda, dokuzuncu, onuncu ve onbirinci sınıfın, birinci ve ikinci döneminde okutulan, Matematik, Analitik Geometri, Geometri dersleriyle ilgili basan testleri hazırlanmış ve Ortaöğretim Matematik, Analitik Geometri, Geometri Derslerinin hedeflerinden yararlanarak anketler geliştirilmiştir. Araştırmada örneklem grubunu, Erzurum ili merkezinde bulunan Fen Lisesi, Anadolu Lisesi, Adnan Menderes Lisesi, Ziya Gökalp Lisesi, Erzurum Lise'sinde öğrenim gören öğrenciler ile Fen Lisesi, Anadolu Lisesi, Adnan Menderes Lisesi, Ziya Gökalp Lisesi, Erzurum Lisesi, Atatürk Lisesi, Cumhuriyet Lisesi, Nene Hatun Kız Lisesi, Şükrü Paşa Lisesi, Mehmet Akif Ersoy Lise'sinde görev yapan matematik öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Veriler, örneklemde bulunan öğrencilere uygulanan basan testleri ve öğretmenlere sunulan anketlerden elde edilmiştir. Öğrencilere uygulanan basan testleri ön test-son test deseni ile yapılmıştır. Ön test ve son testte aynı sorular sorulmuştur. Ön test uygulamalarında, öğrencilerin tepkileri incelendiğinde genellikle soruları cevaplandırmadıkları gözlenmiştir. Tez konusunun sınırlılığı olarak (hedeflere ulaşma düzeyi) son test sonuçlan üzerinde analizler yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, ders başarılan için, Aritmetik Ortalama hesaplanmıştır. Basan testlerinden alman sonuçlar, okullara göre farklılaşma gösterip göstermediği tek yönlü Varyans Analizi (Anova), farklılıklar var ise hangileri arasında olduğunu gösteren Scheffe Testi ile sonuca gidilmiştir. Ayrıca çoktan seçmeli olmayan soruların analizinde Khi-kare Testi kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlere uygulanılan anketler ise yüzde ve frekans ile analiz edilmiştir. Analizlerde, SPSS 9,0 for windows (Statical Pocket Of Social Science) istatistiki paket programından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Ortaöğretim Matematik Ders Programının hedeflerine ulaşılamadığı görülmüştür. 2002, 144 sayfa

Thesis EVALUATION OF THE LEVEL OF SECONDARY SCHOOL MATHEMATICS COURSE PROGRAMME REACHING IT'S TARGET IN VIEW OF STUDENT SUCCESS AND TEACHER OPINIONS NurSIRMACI Atatürk University Graduate School of Natural And Applied Sciences Department of Mathematics Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Rahim OCAK This study aims to evaluate the level of ninth, tenth and eleventh grade secondary school mathematics course programme's reaching its target in view of student success and teacher opinions. For this purpose, the objectives in High School Mathematics Course Programme were analyzed, tests to measure success in Mathematics, Analytical Geometry and Geometry taught in the first and second terms of ninth, tenth and eleventh grades were prepared and questionarres about the objectives of secondary school mathematics, Analytical Geometry and Geometry Courses were prepared. The sample of the study includes students in the following high schools in Erzurum City center Science High School, Analotian High School, Adnan Menderes High School, Ziya Gökalp High School; and teachers of mathematics in Science High School, Analotian High School, Adnan Menderes High School, Ziya Gökalp High School, Erzurum High School, Atatürk High School, Cumhuriyet High School, Nene hatun High School For Girls, Şükrü Paşa High School, Mehmet Akif Ersoy High School. The findings were obtained through the success tests given to students and questionaires applied to teachers. The success test given to students compose of pre-test and post-test. Both tests included the same question. The evaluation of the pre-test shows that students generally did not answer the questions. In order to evaluate the level of reaching the target, analyses were made on the results of the post-test. Aritmetical average was the measure for the success of the course in the analysis of the data. Variance Analysis (Anova) was made to seee whether the results of success tests differed from school to school; in the case of differences, Scheffe Test was utilized to see between which schools there were differences. Besides, Khi-Square Test was used for the analysis of questions which were not of multiple choice characteristics. Questionaires applied to teachers were analyzed by percentage and frequency. SPSS 9,0 for windows (Statical Pocket Of Social Science) was utilized for the analyses. The study shows that Secondary School Mathematics Course Programme does not reach its target. 2002, 144 pages
