ABSTRACT Since the competition gets more and more difficult, there occurs a big pressure on organizations in terms of increasing the work efficiency by decreasing the costs and therefore improving the quality and ensuring the customer satisfaction. Owing to the fact that the sources avaliable are very few, this increasingly turns into a more difficult struggle. Ensuring the quality to be measurable, gaining an economical benefit change institutions' point of views in terms of quality management. The Six Sigma is a quality management methodology which decreases the faults arising from the product and the service at an unexpected degree by ensuring powerful statistical analysis and measurements in the activities related to design, manufacturing and the customers and plays an important role in realizing the target of zero defect strategy. Within the scope of mis thesis, the Six Sigma and its way of application in SMEs have been examined, the importance of the Experimental Design in the Six Sigma and the attempt of applying the 2k Factorial Design have been indicated. As for the applicability of the Six Sigma, the road map, the project plan, the compliance measurement survey and the development strategy of the DMAIC have been placed within the thesis as reference models.
