V ÖZET ÖZEL DERSHANELERDE KAVRAM HARİTASI METODUNUN ÖĞRENCİLERİN FEN BİLGİSİ TEST ÇÖZME BAŞARILARINA ETKİSİ Ülkemizde ortaöğretim ve yüksek öğretim kurumlarına seçme ve yerleştirme LGS ve ÖSS gibi testler ile yapılmaktadır. Son yıllarda bu testlerde analiz, sentez ve değerlendirme düzeyindeki davranışları ölçen üst düzey sorular yer almaya başlamıştır. Öğrenciler bu testlerde başardı olabilmek için kavranılan ve ilkeleri anlamlı bir şekilde öğrenmeli ve ilişkilendirebilmelidir. Bu yüzden LGS ve ÖSS'ye hazırlık programlan sunan özel dershanelerde öğretim yöntem ve teknikleri güncellenmelidir. Bilgi ve kavramlar arasındaki ilişkileri somut bir şekilde görsel hale getirerek anlamlı öğrenmeyi kolaylaştıran kavram haritalan LGS ve ÖSS'ye hazırlık amacıyla kullanılabilir mi? İşte bu sorudan yola çıkarak yapılan bu araştırmada kavram haritalarının öğrencilerin çoktan seçmeli fen bilgisi testi çözerken gösterdikleri başarıya etkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışma İstanbul İlinde Kadıköy İlçesi'ne bağlı özel Sevinç Dershanesi 8. sınıflarındaki 46 öğrenci ile 2001-2002 öğretim yılında fen bilgisi dersinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uygulanan ön test ile öğrencilerin konuyla ilgili ön bilgileri ölçüldükten sonra; konular kontrol grubunda geleneksel yöntem ile, deney grubunda ise geleneksel yöntem ile birlikte kavram haritalan kullanılarak konular işlenmiştir. Çalışma ilköğretim fen bilgisi ders programındaki“Hareket'' konusu ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlan ilki ile aynı bir bilimsel basan testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Uygulama bir ay sürmüştür. Uygulanan testlerden elde edilen puanlar kullanılarak ”t“ testi yapılmıştır. Bunun için SPSS /PC paket programı kullanılmıştır.VI Bu araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara dayanarak şu sonuca ulaşılmıştır: ”Kavram haritası metodu, ilköğretim öğrencilerinin çoktan seçmeli fen testi çözerken gösterdikleri basanda önemli bir rol oynamaktadır." Elde edilen sonuçtan yola çıkılarak öneriler geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın, öğretmenlerin bu konuya dikkatlerim çekmesi ve bu alanda yapılacak çalışmalara kaynak oluşturması beklenmektedir.

vn ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF CONSEPT MAPPING TECHNIQUE ON THE SUCCESS OF STUDENTS ABOUT SOLVING MULTIPLE CHOİCE TEST QUESTIONS In Turkey, students are elected by LGS (High School Entrence Exam) for a certain number of high schools with special curriculums. Similarey, to attend university and/or colleges students should succeed in the OSS (University Entrance Exam). In the last few years,high order thinking skills are started to be used in these tests. Students willing to succeed in the OSS and LGS, should be able to learn concepts and principals in a meaningful way. That's why the special exam preparation institutions, which provide the students special curriculum for preparation for these exams, should update their teaching methods and techniques. Can we use the concept maps which let us see the the relations between knowledge and concepts visualy, be used to prepare students for LGS and OSS? This question leads the research and the effect of concept maps on the success of the students with the multiple choice science exams is investigated. The research is done in İstanbul, Kadıköy at Private Sevinç Course classes in the 2001 - 2002 academic year. The research covers 46 eight garde students. After applying an achievement test as a pre-test, the science classes are taught by the traditional teaching methods in the control group, and both the traditional and the concept mapping methods in the experimental group. The result of the study is also evaluated with the same achivement test and the success of the students in the control and experimental groups are compared statisticaly with 't' test.vm Based on the findings of the research, the result is: Using concept maps in science lesson is quite effective on the success of the students about solving multiple choice science problems. According to these results, some suggestions are made. It is expected that this study will take the teachers' attention on this subject and will be a source for the other studies which will possibly be made in this field.
