Özet
ÖZET Değişen dünyada, işletmelerin verimliliklerinin artırılmasında, teknolojideki gelişmelere uyum sağlamak büyük bir önem taşımaktadır. Ancak bu gelişmeler çevre sorunlarını da, özellikle 1990'ların sonunda büyüklüğü tartışılmayacak derecede, beraberinde getirmiştir. Çevre sorunu denilen oluşumların, ilk ve daha yoğun olarak sanayi üretiminin gerçekleştirildiği bölgelerde ortaya çıkması, bu yargıyı doğrulamaktadır. Bu yüzden, çevreyi koruma amaçlı faaliyetler yine bu bölgelerde daha fazla gündeme gelmiş ve yaygınlaşmıştır. Çevre Yönetim Sistemleri, özellikle sanayi bölgelerinde çevre koruma faaliyetlerinin etkenleştirilmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş sistemlerdir. Çevre Yönetim Sistemleri işletmelerin çevreye verdiği zararları en aza indirgemeyi amaçlamaktadır. ISO 14000 Standartlar serisi ise, Çevre Yönetim Sisteminin uluslararası düzeyde anlamlı bulunan ve uyulan standartlara dönüştürülmesi çabalarının somut bir sonucu olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. ISO 14000 Standartlar serisi içerisinde işletmelerin belgelendirmede esas aldıkları ve bir rehber niteliği taşıyan ISO 14001 Standardı, herhangi bir zorlayıcı unsur olmadan gönüllülük esasına dayanarak, işletmelerin çevreye yönelik faaliyetler gerçekleştirmelerini sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, çevre kirliliği ve çevre yönetimi tanımları genel hatlarıyla incelenmiş, ISO 14001 Standardının elemanları tanımlanmış, uygulama aşamasında firmaların karşılaşacağı problemler ve standardın sağlayacağı yararlar açıklanmıştır. Standardın uygulaması bir otomotiv yan sanayii işletmesi olan Ege Fren Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş.'de incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma ile, sistem hayata geçirilirken karşılaşılan sorunlar, dikkat edilmesi gereken konular ve başarılı bir uygulama için yapılması gerekenler incelenmiş ve öneriler yapılmıştır.

ABSTRACT m the changing world, adaptation to the developments in technology has a big importance for increasing the productivity of companies. But these developments, especially by the end of 1990's, brought the great environmental problems together. Because the events called as environmental problems appears mostly at industrial areas, this supports our judgement And because of this, activities for environmnent protection, became prevalent at these areas. Environmental Management Systems (EMS) are the systems that are developed to activate the environment protection movements, especially at the industrial areas. EMS's purposes to minimize the damages that are given by the companies to the environment ISO 14000 Standards Series are the result of the efforts given to change the EMS into standards that are adapted at international level. The ISO 14001 standard which is included in ISO 14000 Standards Series, has characteristic of a guide and companies take this standard as a basis during certification. Also the standard leans on voluntary basic and helps companies to make activities for environment In this study, definitions of environment pollution and environment management are examined, the elements of the ISO 14001 Standard are defined, the problems that the companies faces during the application and the advantages of the standard are explained. The application of the standard is examined at Ege Fren Inc.Co. which is an automative side industry. By this study, the problems during the set up of the system, the subjects that are needed to pay attention and the tilings that must be done for a successful application are examined and suggestions are given.
