MÜZİK EĞİTİMİ ALAN VE ALMAYAN LİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN BENLİK TASARIMI DÜZEYLERİNİN ÇEŞİTLİ DEĞİŞKENLERE GÖRE İNCELENMESİ (Doktora Tezi) DOLUNAY AKGÜL BARIŞ GAZİ ÜNİVERSİTESİ FEN BİLİMLERİ ENSTİTÜSÜ Haziran 2002., c4ZET Bu araştırma, müzik eğitimi alan ve almayan lise öğrencilerinin, Benlik tasarımı düzeylerini, cinsiyet, ailenin sosyo-ekonomik düzeyi, anne- babanın eğitim düzeyi, ailenin müzikle ilgilenip ilgilenmeme durumu, okul dışı müzik etkinliğinde bulunulup bulunulmaması ve yaşanılan çevre değişkenlerine göre inceleyerek, bu değişkenlerin her iki grupta da öğrencilerin benlik tasarımı düzeylerine etkisini saptamayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, Ankara - Bolu - Antalya Anadolu Güzel Sanatlar Liselerine devam eden 57 lise son sınıf müzik öğrencisi ve Ankara Ömer Seyfettin Lisesi, Bolu Atatürk Lisesi ve Antalya Karatay Lisesi son sınıflarına devam eden, lise döneminde müzik dersi almamış 60 öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 117 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada, örnekleme seçilen öğrencilerin belirlenen değişkenlere ilişkin bilgilerini toplamak amacıyla kişisel bilgi formu hazırlanıp kullanılmış, öğrencilerin benlik tasarımı düzeylerini belirlemek amacıylaise Benlik Tasarımı Envanteri - Lise Formu araştırmacı tarafından bizzat uygulanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesi aşamasında, değişkenlerin, öğrencilerin benlik tasarımı düzeylerine etkilerini saptamak amacıyla tek yönlü ve çift yönlü varyans analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda ise iki grup karşılaştırıldığında, müzik eğitimi almanın, öğrencilerin benlik tasarımı puanları üzerinde olumlu yönde farklılığa neden olduğu bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Bununla birlikte cinsiyet, ailenin sosyo-ekonomik düzeyi, anne-babanın eğitim düzeyi, ailenin müzikle ilgilenip ilgilenmeme durumu değişkenlerinin her iki grupta da benlik tasarımı puanları üzerinde anlamlı bir farklılığa neden olmadığı saptanmıştır (p>0,05). Buna karşılık okul dışı müzik etkinliğinde bulunulup bulunulmaması ve yaşanılan çevre değişkenlerinin her iki grupta da benlik tasarımı puanları üzerinde olumlu yönde anlamlı bir farklılığa neden olduğu tespit edilmiştir (p<0,05). Çalışmanın sonunda, ailelere, eğitimcilere ve yeni araştırmalara ilişkin bazı öneriler getirilmiştir. Ill REGARDING SEVERAL VARIATIONS EXAMINING LEVELS OF SELF - CONCEPT OF THE STUDENTS BOTH GETTING OR NOT GETTING MUSIC EDUCATION (Ph.D. Thesis) Dolunay AKGÜL BARIŞ GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY June 2002 ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to study levels of the self - concept of the students getting or not getting music education according to several variations such as sex, social and economic status of the family, education of the parents, participating in music activities out of the school, pleace of in habitance and also to find out the effect of these differentations on the levels of the self - concept of both groups of students. Totally 117 high school last year students were sampled for this research; 57 of which were music students attending Ankara, Bolu and Antalya High School of Fine Arts and also other 60 students, not getting music education, were attending Ankara Ömer Seyfettin High School, Antalya Karatay High School and Bolu Atatürk High School.“Individual Information Forms”were prepared and used to gather the data regarding to determined variations of the students chosen for this research and then to find out the levels of the self - concept of the students“self - concept Inventory High School Forms”were applied by the searcher personally. untilIV At analysing step“Two and One Way Classification Analysis of Variance”was used to discover the impact of the variations on the levels of self - concept of the highschool students getting or not getting music education. As a conclusion; when two groups of students getting or not getting music education were compared, it was found out that getting music education had the self - concept scores improved siginificantly, (p<0,05). On the other hand, While the variations such as sex, social - economic status of family education of parents family's relation to music didn't cause any difference on the self - concept scores of the two groups of students (p>0,05). the variations such as whether participating or not participating in music activities out of school and inhabitance place increased the self - concept scores of the two groups of students importantly, (p<0,05). As a result, some suggestions were presented to parents, educators and new researches about this topic.
