Özet

ÖZET Araştırmada ortaöğretim kurumlarındaki Öğrencilerde sosyal desteğin akademik başarıya etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin cinsiyetleri, okul türleri, okudukları alan, anne babanın eğitim düzeyi, ailenin ekonomik seviyesi, annenin çalışıp çalışmaması, karşı cins arkadaşları olup olmaması değişkenleri algılanan sosyal ile karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Araştırma tarama modelinde olup, araştırma örneklemini Konya ilindeki Meram Fen lisesi, Özel Tutmak Lisesi, özel Diltaş Lisesi, Muhittin Güzelkıhç Lisesi ve Selçuklu Lisesinde, 2002-2003 eğitim öğretim yılında öğrenim gören Lise 2 ve Lise 3'üneü sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama amacıyla Aileden Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği ve Arkadaşlardan Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği uygulanmıştır, öğrencilerin özlük bilgileri için kişisel bilgi formu oluşturulmuştur. Verilerin analizinde bağımsız t testi, varyans analizi ve regresyon analizi istatistikleri kullanılmıştır. Manidarlık 0,05 olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre ktz öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilerden daha fazla arkadaşlık ve aile desteği algıladıkları bulunmuştur. Fen lisesi ve özel lise ögrencilerinin genel lise öğrencilerine göre daha fazla arkadaşlık ve aile desteği algıladıkları bulunmuştur. Anne eğitim düzeyi ve çalışıp çalışmaması durumu öğrencilerin algıladıkları arkadaşlık desteğini etkilemezken, aile desteği algılarını yükselttiği bulunmuştur. Fen alam öğrencilerinin Sosyal ve Türkçe-Matematik alam öğrencilerine göre daha fazla arkadaşlık ve aile desteği algıladıkları bulunmuştur. Ekonomik durumu iyi ve orta olan öğrencilerin aile ve arkadaşlık algı düzeyleri yüksek olarak bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin babalarının eğitim düzeyi yükseldikçe daha fazla arkadaş ve aile desteğini algıladıkları bulunmuştur. Karşı cins arkadaşı olan öğrencilerin daha yüksek arkadaş desteği algılarken aile destek düzeyleri değişmemiştir. ~jgS&*

SUMMARY In this survey, the effect of social support on academic success in high school students was researched. Variations, such as students' sexes, their school types, their field of study, the educational background and the economic situation of their parents, whether the mother worked, and whether they had a friend of the opposite sex, were analyzed comparatively with the 'perceived social support'. The method followed was 'survey method' and the samples consisted of the second and third year high school students during 2002-2003 academic year who attended Meram Science High School, Private Tfirmak High School, Private Diltaş High School, Muhittin Gözelkıhç High School ami Selçuklu High School in Konya, Turkey. 'Perceived Social Support From Families' and 'Perceived Social Support From Friends' scales were used in order to collect the necessary data for the research. A personal data form was designed for identity information. Independent t test and statistics of variant analysis and regression analysis were used to evaluate the data collected The significance value was determined to be 0,05. It was found out mat girls perceived more social support from family and friends than boys did It was also found out mat students in private high schools and science high schools perceived more social support from family and friends than those of other general high school students. While the mother's educational background and the condition whether she worked or not did not affect the level of the student's perceived social support from friends, both factors were determined to increase the level of perceived social support from family. Another finding was that students İn the field of science possessed a higher degree of perceived social support from family and friends in relation to those studying social sciences or Turkish-Mathematies. Students with a good or average economic situation were determined to have a higher level of perceived social support from both family and friends, and the level of perceived social support of both kinds increases in parallel to the father's educational level Students who have a friend of the opposite sex perceived a higher degree of social support from friends, whereas mat from family did not change.
