SUMMARY In the second half of the 6th century B.C., there is substantial increase in the amount of Attic black-figured pottery in Daskyleion. In this thesis, more than three hundered fifty fragmentary pieces, which cover this era, were dealt. Most of the fragments has been discovered by Prof. Dr. Ekrem Akurgal in several campaign in Daskyleion. The earliest pieces published here, dating about first quarter of the 6th century, are E.457 (pi. 26), amphora, and E.473, E.474, E.475 (pl.l) lekane pieces. The lekane pieces E.473 assigned to the KX Painter. Siana Kylix E.145 probably connected with the Heidelberg Painter, (lev. 16. a) The lip cup E.20, which bears two letter of painter's signature on its handle zone, was disscused whether it belongs to Painter Eucheiros or not. The lip cup E.21 (pl.4.b) was connected with the Brauron pyxis, which was assigned to the Burgon Group by Beazley. But it is discovered that the Brauron pyxis does not have the same style with the other vases in the Burgon Group. The band- cup E.26 (pl.6.b) attributed to Tleson Painter. The band-cup E.108 (pl.9.b) has a signature of Sokles Painter. In addition to lip and band cups, there are number of Droop, Cassel, Flo ral Band, A type and top-band cups exists in the thesis. 165These are only compared according to their decorations, with similar examples. The works of a number of artists appear in the last quarter of the 6th century; Theseus Painter is represented by the greatest number of works. Skyphos E.139 (pi. 16. a) can be assigned to the Theseus Painter. There are, in addition, a number of skyphos fragments which are closely connected with the Haimon Workshop. These are E.141 (pi. 16. a), E.142 (pi. 16. a), E.144 (pi. 16. a), E.169 (pl.l7.c) E.170 (pi. 17. a). The amphora E.459 assigned to the Painter of Louvre F.6. (pi. 20) Besides them Lekythos E.402 is the work of the Haimon Workshop. (pi. 21. a) Lekythos E.407 and 409 also shows the manner of the Haimon Workshop. In the Lekythos group, fragments E.411 (pi. 22. a), E.412 (pl.21.c), E.413 (pi. 21), E. 415-419 ( pi. 21. c, 22. a ) are work of the Beldam Workshop. The cup fragment E.101 (pl.4.c) attributed to the Painter Tleson. 166
