Özet
ÖZET Bu çalışmada, bazı anne sıçanlar laktasyonun ilk haftasında (0.-7. günler), bazı anne sıçanlar da laktasyonun son haftasında (14-21. günler, D2), kontrol grubundaki sıçanların yediği yemin %50'si verilmek suretiyle, yetersiz beslenmeye alındılar. Yetersiz beslenen annelerin yavruları ile kontrol yaşıtlarının gelişimleri (vücut ağırlığı ve iskelet gelişimi) 49. günün sonuna kadar incelendi. Kırkdokuzuncu gün sonunda, 0-7 günler arasında yetersiz beslenmiş sıçanlara ait yavruların (D1) sadece femur uzunluğu, ischium genişliği, iki crista iliaca arası ve biacetabular mesafe bakımından kontrol yaşıtlarına göre, istatistiksel anlamda önemli azalma saptanmıştır. D2 grubunda, femur uzunluğu, ischium genişliği, iki crista iliaca arası ve biacetabular mesafeye ilaveten, baş genişliği, 13. thoracal ve 8. caudal vertebra boyutları, ön ve arka ekstremitenin ölçülen bileşenlerinde, kontrol yaşıtlarına göre anlamlı azalmalar görülmüştür. Diğer taraftan D1 grubundaki kuyruk uzunluğu, 13. thoracal ve 8. caudal vertebra boyutları, humerus, radius, ulna ve tibia uzunlukları, D2 grubundakilerden anlamlı olarak fazlalık göstermiştir. Sonuç olarak; 49. gün sonunda, laktasyonun 14-21. günleri arasında yetersiz beslenen sıçanların, 0-7. günler arasında yetersiz beslenmiş sıçanlara göre; yetersiz beslenmeden, gerek vücut ağırlığı bakımından gerekse iskelet gelişimi bakımından daha çok etkilendikleri görülmüştür. Bu da bize laktasyonun son haftasının ilk haftasına göre daha kritik olduğunu göstermektedir. Diğer taraftan, vücut ağırlığında ve kemiklerde gözlenen kayıpların kalıcı olup olmadığının ileride yapılacak çalışmalarla ortaya konmasının yaralı olacağı açıkça görülmektedir.

SUMMARY In this study, some of the mothers were undernourished in the first week of their lactation period (between day 0-7) by giving about the half that eaten by the mothers fed ad libitum, and some other mothers were undernourished in the last week of the lactation period (between day 14-21). Growth progress (body weight and skeletal growth) of the pups fed from the undernourished and control mothers was investigated until the end of day 49th. At the end of 49th day, only the length of femur, the width of ischium, biiliac and biacetabular distances of the pubs undernourished between day 0-7 (D1) were found significantly lesser than those of the age-matched controls. Whereas in the other group (D2), in addition to the length of femur, the width of ischium, biiliac and biacetabular distances; bizygomatic distance, dimensions of the 13th thoracic and 8th caudal vertebra and all measured components of the fore and hind limbs were also found significantly lesser than those of the age- match controls. On the other hand, tail length, dimensions of the 13th thoracic and 8th caudal vertebra, the length of humerus, radius, ulna and tibia in group D1 was found statistically longer than those of D2. As a conclusion, at the end of 49th day, pubs undernourished between 14- 21th days of lactation were more affected than those undernourished between 0-7th days of lactation, in terms of both body weight and skeletal development. These findings suggest that the last week of lactation is more critical than the first week of lactation. At the same time, it is also obvious that further experiments will be useful to determine whether the deficits observed in body weight and bones were permanent or not. IV
