Dr. Kâzım KÖKTEKİN Umûmî târih içinde önemli bir yer tutan ve çalışma konumuz olan Nazmî-Zâde Murteza'mn Gülşen-i Hulefâ isimli eseri Emevî Devleti'nin yıkılıp, Abbasî Devletinin ve Bağdad şehrinin kuruluşundan ve Abbâsîler'den sonra Bağdad ve çevresinde hâkim olan devletlerden, şehrin Osmanlı Devleti'nin hâkimiyetine girmesinden özellikle IV. Murad'ın ikinci defa Bağdad'ı fethedip Osmanlı hâkimiyetine almasından ve 1717 yılına kadar Osmanlı Devleti'nin tayin ettiği Bağdad valileri ve bunların faaliyetlerinden bahseden çok önemli bir eserdir. Yurt içinde ve yurt dışındaki bir çok kütüphanede yazma ve matbu nüshaları bulunan Nazmî- Zâde' nin bu çok değerli eserinin tenkitli transkripsiyonunun yapılıp ilim dünyasına kazandırılmak amacını taşıyan bu çalışma bir Giriş ve Dört Bölüm halindedir. Giriş bölümünde Osmanlılar döneminde Bağdad târihiyle ilgili yazılan özel eserler hakkında kısaca bilgi verilip Gülşen-i Hulefâ'nın bu eserler arasındaki yeri hakkında bilgi verildi. Çalışmanın I. Bölümü iki kısım halinde değerlendirildi. Birinci kısmında Müellifin hayatı ve eserleri hakkında bilgi verildi. İkinci kısımda ise Gülşen-i Hulefâ'nın çeşitli kütüphanelerdeki yazma ve matbu nüshalarının tanıtımı yapılıp transkripsiyonu yapılan esas nüsha ile diğer kendileriyle karşılaştırılan nüshalarla ilgili bilgi verilip bu nüshaları tercih etme sebebi izah edildi. Yine eserin telifındeki amaç ve konusu ile ilgili bilgi verilip müellifin bu eserdeki dil ve üslubu, târih metodolojisi ve târih felsefesi ile ilgili bilgi verildi. II. Bölümde Bağdad'ın kuruluşu, Bağdad isminin menşei, Abbasîler için önemi, Abbâsîler'den sonra Bağdad'a hâkim olan devletler, Bağdad'ın Osmanlı Devleti'nin hâkimiyetine girmesi, Osmanlı Devleti için önemi ve Osmanlı Devletinin tayin ettiği Bağdad Valileri ve faaliyetleri hakkında özet bilgi verildi. III. Bölümde müellifin Emevîler, Abbasî Halîfeleri, bu dönemdeki Türkler, Moğollar ve Ehl-i Sünnet Dışı İnançlar, Selçuklu Sultanları, Osmanlı Sultanları ve Osmanlı Devleti'nin Bağdad Valileri, Şiiler, İran ve törenlerle ilgili görüşlerine yer verildi. IV. Bölümde bu çalışmada uyulan metotlarla ilgili bilgi bulunmaktadır.

Dr. Kâzım KÖKTEKİN Having had an important place in General History, Nazmi-Zade Murteza's Gülşen-i Hulefa is a very important book in providing valuable information about the collapse of Emevî Chalifat, the establishment of Abbasî Chalifat; the construction of the city of Baghdad and the states established after the collapse of the Abbâsîdes; the conquest of Baghdad by the Ottomans, and most importantly the second conquest by Sultan Murad IV. Has within the country as well as. Gülşen-i Hulefa has many manuscript and published copies in the libraries both in this country and in abroad. This study, which aims to introduce a critical translation of Nazmî-Zâde's very important work to the academic world, contains and introduction and four chapters. In the introduction, books that had been written exclusively an Baghdad will be discussed and the place of Gülşen-i Hulefâ among these books will be discussed. The first chapter is divided into two subchapters. The first of these subchapters includes information about the life and works of the author. In the second subchapter Gülşen-i Hulefâ's different editions are discussed; translated edition is compared to other editions; and reasons for the translated edition are discussed. Furthermore, aim and contend of the book is explained, as well as the author's language, method, historiography and historical philosophy are expressed. In the second chapter the establishment of Baghdad, root of the name“Baghdad,”its importance for the Abbâsîd, states that controlled Baghdad after the Abbâsîd, erection of the Ottoman rule over the city, its importance for the Ottomans, and governors appointed by the Ottomans and activities of these governors are discussed. The third chapter provides information about the Emevies, Abbâsîde Caliphs, the Turks, the Mongols heterodox Muslims, the Sultans of the Saljukids the Ottoman Sultans, the Ottoman governors of Baghdad, Shias, Iran and ceremonies. The finale chapter contains methods applied to this study.
