Özet
Tasavvuf, sâlikin iç dünyasını arındırarak onu Allah Teâlâ'ya (c.c.) yakınlaştırmayı hedefleyen manevîyat yoludur. Bu yollar arasında öne çıkan Nakşbendîlik, tarih boyunca etkisini sürdürmüş önemli bir gelenektir. On bir temel esas üzerine inşa edilen bu geleneğin modern dönemdeki tanınmış simalarından biri olan Ahmet Çağıl (öl.2013) yaşamını tasavvufun özüne uygun bir irşâd anlayışıyla sürdürmüştür. Çağıl, mesleğini ülke genelinde ve global ölçekte icra etmiş; hekimlik kimliğini terk etmeksizin, mürşidinin kendisine çizdiği çerçevede tarikat vekâletini ifa etmiştir. Bu yönüyle o, hastanede hekim, dergâhta derviş olarak temayüz etmiş; ikamet ettiği beldelerde ise ehl-i kerâmetten bir kimse olarak tanınmıştır. Bu çalışma, Nakşbendîliğin yakın zamanlardaki seyrini bir şahsiyet üzerinden değerlendirme amacıyla, Ahmet Çağıl'ın hayatını, tasavvufî yaklaşımını ve tasavvufî düşüncelerini ele almaktadır. Ahmet Çağıl üzerine yapılmış akademik nitelikte herhangi bir çalışma, tez veya makalenin bulunmaması, literatürde dikkat çekici bir boşluğa işaret etmektedir. Çalışma, söz konusu boşluğu gidermeyi hedefleyerek Çağıl'ın hayatını, tasavvufî anlayışını ve faaliyetlerini ele almakta; böylece Nakşbendîlik geleneği içinde şekillenen irşâd ve düşünce yapısını ilmî bir çerçevede ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Çağıl'ın tasavvuf merkezli düşünce yapısı ile tahallûk ve tahakkuk kavramları üzerine yaptığı değerlendirmeler hem geleneğin sürekliliğini göstermesi hem de uygulamaya dönük bir tasavvuf anlayışını yansıtması bakımından ayrıca önem arz etmektedir. Bu yönüyle çalışma, yalnızca biyografik bir inceleme olmanın ötesine geçerek tasavvuf araştırmaları alanına özgün bir katkı sunmayı hedeflemektedir. Aynı zamanda çalışma, konuyla ilgilenecek araştırmacılar için bir başvuru kaynağı niteliği taşımakta; ileride yapılacak çalışmalara bir zemin hazırlaması bakımından da önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Ahmet Çağıl'ın kaleme aldığı eserler içerik analizi yöntemiyle incelenmiş; ayrıca hakkında daha önce herhangi bir akademik araştırma bulunmaması nedeniyle hem nitel hem de nicel araştırma yöntemleri birlikte kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda, aile fertleriyle gerçekleştirilen röportajlar aracılığıyla hayatına ve düşünce dünyasına dair birincil veriler elde edilmîş, bu veriler ışığında kapsamlı bir literatür değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Tezde, Çağıl'ın tasavvufî kavramlara yüklediği anlamlar, önceki sûfî şahsiyetlerin tanımlamalarıyla karşılaştırmalı olarak ele alınmış; böylece benzerlikler ve farklılıklar sistematik biçimde ortaya konmuştur.

Sufism is a spiritual path that aims to purify the inner world of the sālik and draw him closer to Allah the Exalted (glorified and exalted be He). Among these paths, the Naqshbandiyya stands out as a significant tradition that has maintained its influence throughout history. One of the well-known figures of this tradition in the modern period, Ahmet Çağıl (d. 2013), lived his life in accordance with an understanding of spiritual guidance (irshād) faithful to the essence of Sufism. Çağıl practiced his profession both nationwide and on a global scale; without abandoning his identity as a physician, he fulfilled the authorization (tarikat representation) entrusted to him within the framework drawn by his spiritual guide. In this respect, he distinguished himself as a physician in the hospital and a dervish in the lodge, and was recognized in the places where he resided as a person endowed with spiritual grace. With the aim of evaluating the recent course of the Naqshbandiyya through an individual figure, this study examines the life of Ahmet Çağıl, his Sufi approach, and his Sufi thought. The absence of any academic study, thesis, or article conducted on Ahmet Çağıl points to a noteworthy gap in the literature. Aiming to fill this gap, the present study addresses Çağıl's life, his understanding of Sufism, and his activities, thereby seeking to present—within an academic framework—the structure of spiritual guidance and thought formed within the Naqshbandi tradition. Çağıl's Sufism-centered intellectual framework and his evaluations of the concepts of takhalluq and tahaqquq are of particular importance, as they both demonstrate the continuity of the tradition and reflect a practice-oriented understanding of Sufism. In this respect, the study aims to go beyond a merely biographical examination and to offer an original contribution to the field of Sufi studies. In this study, the works authored by Ahmet Çağıl were examined using the content analysis method; moreover, due to the lack of any prior academic research on him, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were employed together. Within this scope, primary data regarding his life and intellectual world were obtained through interviews conducted with family members, and a comprehensive literature review was carried out in light of these data. In the thesis, the meanings attributed by Çağıl to Sufi concepts are addressed comparatively with the definitions of earlier Sufi figures; thus, similarities and differences are systematically set forth.
