Tezin,“Tasarımların Uygulama Süreci”başlığını taşıyan altıncı bölümünde, belirlenen on adet tasarım geleneksel keçe tekniği kullanılarak uygulamaya dönüştürülmüş ve her çalışmaya yönelik teknik aşamalar, görsel materyallerle desteklenerek ayrıntılı biçimde aktarılmıştır.

Communities of the Turkic world, shaped by the dominant equestrian steppe culture, processed readily available sheep's wool to produce felt objects used for various purposes in their daily lives. Felt was not only a practical material but also formed the basis of objects to which sacred qualities were attributed. Historical sources indicate that the Turks created felt figurines in the form of idols to symbolize the spirits of their deceased relatives. Idols are defined as cult objects that reflect early religious belief systems, in which“God”and“Goddess”figures are abstracted and represented in schematic forms. These objects were produced using various materials such as stone, marble, bone, metal and clay. The idols that have survived from the earliest civilizations of Anatolia and functioned within cultic rituals are examined as the primary research objects within the scope of this thesis. In this context, the first chapter of the thesis presents information regarding the purpose, scope and methodology of the study. The second chapter provides general information about the location and history of the Museum of Anatolian Cilivizations. In the third chapter, the Early Bronze Age idols included in the museum's collection are examined from both theoretical and visual perspectives. Since the idols from this period are numerous and diverse, it was not possible to evaluate all examples within the scope of this study. Therefore, a selected group of idols from the museum collection was included in the analysis. During the selection process, the idols were assessed in terms of their formal aesthetics; adopting an artistic perspective, examples featuring decorative and carved details were chosen as a set of design elements. In the fourth chapter of the thesis, the historical background, technical information and theoretical framework related to the traditional felt-making technique- which forms the foundation of the practical application process- are presented. In the fifth chapter, the selected idols within the scope of the research were digitally drawn using the Nedgraphics Texcelle software; subsequently, original design proposals were created by integrating these drawings with abstract effects in Adobe Photoshop. In the sixth chapter, titled“Application Process of the Designs”ten selected designs were transformed into practice using the traditional felt-making technique and the technical stages of each work were described in detail, supported by visual materials. In the conclusion section, the overall evalution of the original designs-produced based on the Early Bronze Age idols from the collection of the Muesum of Anatolian Civilizations- and their application processes through the traditional felt technique is presented within a general framework. Felt-making is among the traditional crafts that have been transmitted from generation to generation through conventional methods. Throughout history, felt has been used as a functional material in many areas, and over time it has gained cultural value through evolving decorative practices and aesthetic approaches. Due to the rise of industrial production and modern modes of living, the functionaluse of felt has diminished; however, in recent years, it has re-emerged as a material that attracts renewed attention and undergoes significant transformation. This revival has been influenced by increased awareness of culture heritage preservation, a growing interest in material-based experimental practices in art and design, and the enhanced visibility of traditional crafts within the creative industries. Felt is thus evolving from a traditional craft practice into a creative mode of expression associated with contemporary concepts such as sustainability, the use of natural materials, and cultural identity. This thesis aims to foster artistic awareness of the Early Bronze Age idols, contribute to the integration of traditional crafts with contemporary art, and reveal the cultural and aesthetic potential of felt art. Moreover, the study serves as an interdisciplinary model for research within the fields of art history and traditional crafts.
