Özet
Bu çalışmada Alman ekspresyonist şair Gottfried Benn'in“Schöne Jugend”(Güzel Gençlik) adlı şiiri temel alınarak ekfrasis kavramı üzerinden görsel yorumlamalar yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Şiirde yer alan grotesk estetik, ölüm, çürüme ve bedenin insanlık dışılaşması gibi temalar hem metnin içeriği hem de dönemin ekspresyonist atmosferi bağlamında ele alınmış; bu temaların görsel sanatlarda yeniden ve sürekli işlenme biçimleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca Ophelia figürünün sanat tarihi boyunca farklı sanatçıların resimlerinde geçirdiği dönüşüm, özellikle Alman Ekspresyonizmi içindeki işleviyle birlikte değerlendirilmiş; şiirdeki anlatım ile bu figürün ortaklaştığı estetik ve duygusal alanlar incelenmiştir. Ekfrasisin yalnızca betimleyici bir araç olmanın ötesinde, metni dönüştüren, sorgulayan ve yeniden kuran yaratıcı bir yöntem olduğu vurgulanmış ve bu çerçevede çeşitli medyumlarda özgün çalışmalar üretilmiştir. Bu üretimler aracılığıyla Benn'in şiirindeki varoluşsal sıkışmışlık, çağdaş bir görsel dile aktarılmaya çalışılmıştır.

In this study, visual interpretations were created through the concept of ekphrasis, based on the German Expressionist poet Gottfried Benn's“Schöne Jugend”(Beautiful Youth). Themes such as grotesque aesthetics, death, decay and the dehumanization of the body in the poem are discussed in the context of both the content of the text and the expressionist atmosphere of the period; the ways in which these themes are re- and continuously processed in the visual arts are emphasized. In addition, the transformation of the figure of Ophelia in the paintings of different artists throughout art history is evaluated, especially with its function in German Expressionism; the aesthetic and emotional areas shared by this figure and the narrative in the poem are examined. Ekphrasis was approached not only as a descriptive tool but as a creative method that transforms, questions, and reconstructs the text. Within this framework, original artworks were produced in various mediums. Through these productions, the existential entrapment in Benn's poetry was attempted to be transferred into a contemporary visual language.
