Özet
Metaepistemoloji, epistemolojinin ortaya koyduğu sorunları nasıl anlamamız gerektiğini ele almakta ve çözüm yollarının ikincil düzey bir tartışma yürütmekten geçtiğini ileri sürmektedir. Bu doğrultuda tezin amacı metaepistemolojinin kapsamını belirlemek, epistemik normatifliğin bilgideki yerini anlamak, epistemolojide ele alınan sorunları çözme konusunda metaepistemolojinin etkilerini ve ne kadar başarılı olduğunu incelemektir. Bu nedenle öncelikle çağdaş epistemolojideki tartışmalar sergilenmiştir. Ardından metaepistemolojinin nasıl bir alan olduğu tanıtılmış ve içerisindeki temel kuramlar ile tartışmalar açıklanmıştır. Tezin üçüncü bölümünde ise metaepistemolojinin ana tartışma konularından biri olan epistemik normatiflik merkeze alınmıştır. Epistemik normatifliğe ilişkin üç temel yaklaşım incelenmiştir: Terence Cuneo'nun ahlaki normatiflik kuramı, Hilary Kornblith'in doğalcı normatiflik yaklaşımı ve Stephen P. Stich'in pragmatik normatiflik görüşü. Böylelikle metaepistemolojinin, epistemolojideki tartışmalardaki bağlılıkları açık kıldığı ve metaepistemolojideki normatifliğe ilişkin tavrın epistemolojik tartışmaları şekillendirdiği ileri sürülmüştür.

Metaepistemology addresses how we should understand the problems posed by epistemology and argues that the solutions require a secondary level of discussion. In this regard, the aim of this thesis is to determine the scope of metaepistemology, understand the status of normativity in knowledge and examine the effects of metaepistemology in solving the problems addressed in epistemology and how successful it is. For this reason, the discussions in contemporary epistemology are presented first. Then, the field of metaepistemology is introduced, and the fundamental theories and debates within it are explained. In the third chapter of the thesis epistemic normativity, one of the main topics of the discussion in metaepistemology, is taken as the central theme. Three core approaches to epistemic normativity are examined: Terence Cuneo's moral normativity theory, Hilary Kornblith's naturalistic normativity approach and Stephen P. Stich's pragmatic normativity view. Therefore, it has been argued that metaepistemology clarifies the connections within epistemological discussions and that the position regarding normativity in metaepistemology shapes epistemological discussions.
