Özet
ÖZET Bu tezde, para tanıma için alternatif bir teknik geliştirilmiştir. Bu teknikte gerekli kural setini çıkarma ve tanıma işlevi Rules-3 Endüktif Öğrenme yoluyla yapılmaktadır. Banknotu temsil etmek için 10 tane 3x3 mask kullanılmıştır. Herbir banknot(veya örnek) 10 adet maskın frekans sayışım içermektedir. Sistem 5 adet değişik paranın arka ve ön yüzü her bir banknottan 10'ar adet kullanılarak öğretildi. Daha sonra sisteme öğretilmemiş 25 adet yeni banknot test edildi. Sistemin etkinliği doğru sınıflama açısından ölçüldüğünde 96% olarak bulunmuştur.

IV ABSTRACT In this thesis we propose an alternative technique to banknote recognition. The technique employs the RULES-3 inductive learning algorithm to extract the necessary set of rules and recognizes a banknote. 10 of 3x3 masks were used to represent a banknote. Each banknote (or example) consists of 10 frequencies of each mask. The system was trained for 5 different types of banknotes' back and front sides by using 10 samples for each type and then tested for 25“new”examples. The efficiency of the system, that is the ability of correctly classifying new examples, is found to be 96%.
