ÖZET YÜKSEKÖĞRETİME GEÇİŞTE KAZANDIRILACAK YETERLİKLERİ BELİRLEME ÇALIŞMASI ( TIP ALANINDAN BİR ÖRNEK ) Nazmiye BALCI Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Eğitim Bilimleri Anabilim Dalı Danışman: Prof. Dr. Ülkü KÖYMEN Mart 2000,204 sayfa Bu çalışmada Ç.Ü Tıp Fakültesinde görevli öğretim üyelerinin, yükseköğretime girişte öğrencilerde aradıkları ve gözledikleri yeterliklere ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın modeli görüşlerin belirlenmesine yönelik tarama modelinde betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın evrenini 1999 /2000 öğretim yılında Adana'da bulunan Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde görevli öğretim üyeleri oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin toplanması çalışmalarında Ç.Ü Tıp Fakültesi Dekanlığından alınan liste doğrultusunda Ç.Ü Tıp Fakültesi'ne bağlı 40 Anabilim Dalı ve bunlara bağlı alt birimlerde kadrolu olarak görev yapan 622 uzman ve pratisyen doktora anketler dağıtılmış; anketlerden 160 tanesi geri dönmüştür. Verilerin istatistiki analizinde frekans (f), yüzde (%) ve aritmetik ortalamalar (x) kullanılmıştır. Yeterliklerin saptanması ve önem derecesine ilişkin veriler Likert tipi dereceleme ölçeğiyle toplanmış ve bu verilerin çözümlenmesinde aritmetik ortalama kullanılmıştır. Böylece araştırmaya katılan kişilerin görüşlerine göre belirtilen yeterliklerin içinde hangilerinin diğerlerine göre daha önemli olduğu saptanmaya çalışılmıştır.Araştırmaya katılan gruplar arasında görüşlerine göre farklılaşma olup olmadığını ortaya çıkarmak için t testi yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları, (tıp alanı için) yükseköğretime geçişte çok önemli ve önemli görülen yeterliklere öğrencilerin yeterli düzeyde sahip olmadıklarını göstermiştir.

ABSTRACT A STUDY DETERMINING THE COMPETENCIES TO BE GAINED ON ACSESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION ( AN EXAMPLE FROM THE MEDICAL FIELD) Nazmiye Balcı MA Thesis, Education Science Department Supervisor : Prof. Dr. Ülkü Koymen March 2000,204 pages In this study aimed to determine the views of the university teachers in the Medical Faculty of Çukurova University, regarding the competencies they seek from and observe in students an access to higher education. The model of the research is a descriptive study aimed at determining the views in the scanning model. The subjects in this study comprise of the university teachers, assigned in the Medical Faculty of Çukurova University in the 1999-2000 academic year. Firstly, the full list of the university teachers employed at the university were abtained from the Dean Of Çukurova University Medical Faculty for the purpose of data collection. According to the list, there are 40 departments in the Medical Faculty of Çukurova University and lower units connected to these. Plus it has been determined that 622 permanent staff specialist and practioner doctors are employed as academicians. The data obtained through guestionnaires were analysed, classified and entered in to the computer. Freguency (f), percentage (%) and arithmetic averages were used in the statistical analysis of the data. IVThe findings of the competencies and ranking of the data were obtained with a Likert Scale through which the data were ranked in order of importance. Plus, arithmetic average was used in solving the data. By this between the competencies determined by the views of the subjects who have participated the ones which were of more importance than the others were established. Moreover, between the groups whom have participaled in this study t - test has been done to reveal whether there are any differences or not according to their views. The dignosis of this study is important on access to higher education and it is shown that the students aren't at a competent level according to the competencies known to be important.
