Özet
Mimari ve fotoğraf geçmişten günümüze birbiri ile ilişkili ve birbirini besleyen iki disiplin olmuştur. İlk fotoğraf karesinin elde edildiği dönemlerde zamanın teknik koşulları, yapıların fotoğrafın ana konusu olmasını zorunlu kılmıştır. Mimari ise fotoğraflar aracılığıyla temsil edilerek geniş kitlelere erişim sağlamıştır. Dolayısıyla fotoğrafın ortaya çıkışı aynı zamanda mimari fotoğrafın doğuşunu da beraberinde getirmiştir. Mimari fotoğrafın tarihsel sürecinde, gerek dönemin koşullarının olanak verdiği birtakım teknik etkenlerle gerekse süreç içerisinde değişen yaklaşımlarla farklı mimari fotoğraf temsillerinin oluştuğu görülmüştür. Bu temsiller, mimarinin sınırsız sayıdaki görünüm olanakları arasından fotoğrafçının gözünden, fotoğrafçının oluşturduğu kompozisyon doğrultusunda yeniden inşa edildiği ve aktarıldığı temsiller olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Kompozisyon kavramı en yalın haliyle bir bütünü oluşturan çeşitli ögelerin en iyi şekilde bir araya getirilmesi durumudur. Diğer tüm görsel alanlarda olduğu gibi fotoğraf disiplininde de kompozisyon önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Dolayısıyla fotoğrafın dallarından biri olan mimari fotoğrafta da kompozisyon ilişkilerinin varlığı söz konusudur. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada mimari fotoğraf ve kompozisyon ilişkisine odaklanılmıştır. Çalışmada günümüz mimari fotoğraf temsillerinde yer alan kompozisyon ögelerinin incelenmesi, ön plana çıkan özelliklerin ortaya konması ve güncel mimari fotoğraf temsillerine dair çıkarımlarda bulunulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında Architectural Photography Awards mimari fotoğraf yarışmasının kısa listesinde yer alan ve 2012-2022 olmak üzere yarışmanın tüm yıllarını kapsayan 43 adet dış mekan ve 45 adet iç mekan fotoğrafı incelenmiştir. Görsel verilerin analizine imkan veren içerik analizinin kullanıldığı çalışmada, literatürden elde edilen kategori, tema ve alt temaların ışığında toplamda 88 adet fotoğraf analiz edilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Analizler sonucunda elde edilen bulgular kategorilere sadık kalınarak detaylı olarak aktarılmıştır.

Architecture and photography have been two disciplines that have been interrelated and nourishing each other from past to present. During the period when the first photograph was taken, the technical conditions of the time made it necessary for buildings to be the main subject of the photograph. Architecture, on the other hand, was represented through photographs and thus reached a wider audience. Therefore, the emergence of photography also brought about the birth of architectural photography. In historical process of Architectural photography, it has been observed that different Architectural photographic representations were formed both by certain technical factors made possible by the conditions of the period and by the changing approaches throughout the process. These representations appear as representations in which the architecture is reconstructed and conveyed through the photographer's eyes, in line with the composition created by the photographer, amoung the unlimited number of viewing possibilities. The concept of composition is simply the best way to bring together various elements that form a whole. As in all other visual fields, composition has an important place in the photography discipline. Therefore, there are compositional relationships in Architectural photography, which is one of the branches of photography. In this context, the study focuses on the relationship between Architectural photography and composition. The aim of the study is to examine the compositional relationships in contemporary Architectural photographic representations to reveal the prominent features and to make inferences about contemporary Architectural photographic representations. Within the scope of the study 43 exterior and 45 interior photographs, which were on the shortlist of the Architectural photography awards competition and covered all years of the competition, 2012-2022, were examined. In the study where content analysis was used, which allows the analysis of visual data, 88 photographs were analyzed and interpreted in the light of the categories, themes and sub-themes obtained from the literature. The findings obtained after the analysis were conveyed in detail, adhering to the categories.
