Özet
Gerçekleştirilen çalışmada, yaratıcı drama etkinlikleri ile işlenen 7. sınıf fen bilimleri dersi müfredatında yer alan,“Evsel Atıklar ve Geri Dönüşüm”konusunun 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin bilgi ve geri dönüşümle ilgili durumları üzerindeki etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Nicel bir yaklaşımla yürütülen araştırmada, yarı deneysel bir desen olan kontrol gruplu ön test ve son test yaklaşımından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma, 7. sınıflardan 60 öğrenci ile İstanbul'da bulunan bir devlet ortaokulunda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma örnekleminin belirlenmesi, seçkisiz olmayan uygun örnekleme yöntemi ile yapılmıştır. Çalışmada; veri toplama aracı olarak,“Evsel Atıklar ve Geri Dönüşüm Bilgi Testi”ve“Ortaokul Öğrencileri İçin Geri Dönüşüm Ölçeği”kullanılmıştır. Araştırmacı tarafından“Evsel Atıklar ve Geri Dönüşüm”konusu deney grubu öğrencileri ile yaratıcı drama yöntemine göre hazırlanan etkinlikler aracılığı ile ele alınmıştır. Kontrol grubundaki öğrenciler ile ise konu yine araştırmacı tarafından, MEB öğretim programında yer verilen öğrenme yaklaşımlarına dayalı etkinlikler aracılığı ile ele alınmıştır. Konu her iki grupta da 3 hafta sürecek şekilde 12 ders saati boyunca işlenmiştir. Araştırmada,“Evsel Atıklar ve Geri Dönüşüm”konusunda, yaratıcı dramanın etkilerini ölçmek için deney ve kontrol gruplarına araştırma sürecinin başında ve sonunda bilgi testi ve geri dönüşüm ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan toplanan veriler, bağımlı örneklemler ve bağımsız örneklemler t-testi kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda;“Evsel Atıklar ve Geri Dönüşüm”konusunu, yaratıcı drama etkinlikleri aracılığıyla öğrenen öğrencilerin bilgi testi ve geri dönüşüm ölçeği puanlarının mevcut programda yer alan etkinlikler aracılığı ile öğrenen öğrencilere kıyasla anlamlı derecede daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Gelecek araştırmalarda, farklı sınıf kademelerinde yaratıcı drama yönteminin geri dönüşüm konusunda, öğrencilerin bilgi ve geri dönüşüm farkındalıkları üzerindeki etkilerinin incelenmesi önerilmektedir.

The aim of the study is to examine the effect of the topic“Household Waste and Recycling,”which is included in the 7th grade science curriculum and taught through creative drama activities, on 7th grade students' knowledge and recycling- related attitudes. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, specifically employing a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group. The study was carried out with 60 seventh-grade students in a public middle school located in Istanbul. The sample was determined using a non-random convenient sampling method. As data collection tools, the“Household Waste and Recycling Knowledge Test”and the“Recycling Scale for Middle School Students”were used. The topic“Household Waste and Recycling”was covered with the experimental group students through activities designed in accordance with the creative drama method by the researcher. With the control group students, the topic was also taught by the researcher, but through activities based on the learning approaches included in the official curriculum by the Ministry of National Education. In both groups, the topic was covered over a period of 3 weeks, totaling 12 class hours. In order to measure the effects of creative drama on the topic“Household Waste and Recycling,”both the knowledge test and the recycling scale were administered to the experimental and control groups at the beginning and end of the study. The data collected from the study were analyzed using paired samples t-test and independent samples t-test. As a result of the study, it was found that students who learned the topic through creative drama activities had significantly higher scores on both the knowledge test and the recycling scale compared to those who learned through the activities based on the existing curriculum. For future studies, it is recommended to investigate the effects of the creative drama method on students' knowledge and recycling awareness in different grade levels.
