Özet
Bu tezin amacı, kozmopolitizm düşüncesi için önemli iki düşünür, Immanuel Kant ve Şeyla Benhabib'in kozmopolitizm anlayışlarını karşılaştırmak ve kozmopolitizmin mümkünlüğü üzerine bir tartışma yapmaktır. Tezin giriş bölümünde hem kozmopolitizmin tarihine dair bir arka plan verilmiş olup hem de kozmopolitizme dair eleştirilerin nedenlerine değinilmiştir. Tezin birinci bölümünde kozmopolitizmin kavramı, kavramın tarihsel olarak gelişim serüveni ve insan haklarının kozmopolitizmle ilişkisine yer verilmiştir. Tezin ikinci bölümünde Immanuel Kant'ın kozmopolitizm anlayışına, Aydınlanma Dönemi'nin Kant'ın Ebedi Barış metnini açısından önemine ve Ebedi Barış metninin önemi ve etkilerine yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Şeyla Benhabib'in kozmopolitizm düşüncesine ve gerek kozmopolitizm için gerekse de Şeyla Benhabib'in kozmopolitizm anlayışı için önemli düşünürler olan, Kant, Arendt ve Rawls'un dünya yurttaşlığı eksenindeki düşüncelerine ve Şeyla Benhabib'in bu düşünceleri nasıl yeniden yorumladığına yer verilmiştir. Bu bölümde son olarak Şeyla Benhabib'in Yanılsamasız Kozmopolitizm anlayışı ele alınmaktadır. Tezin sonuç bölümünde kozmopolitizmin bir ideal olarak mümkün olup olmadığı üzerine bir tartışma yapılmaktadır.

The aim of this thesis is to compare the cosmopolitanism understandings of two important thinkers for the idea of cosmopolitanism, Immanuel Kant and Şeyla Benhabib, and to make a discussion on the possibility of cosmopolitanism. In the introduction part of the thesis, a background to the history of cosmopolitanism is given and the reasons for the criticisms of cosmopolitanism are mentioned. In the first part of the thesis, the concept of cosmopolitanism, the historical development of the concept and the relationship of human rights with cosmopolitanism are included. In the second part of the thesis, Immanuel Kant's understanding of cosmopolitanism, the importance of the Enlightenment Period in terms of Kant's text Perpetual Peace and the importance and effects of the text Perpetual Peace are included. The third section includes Şeyla Benhabib's cosmopolitanism and the thoughts of Kant, Arendt and Rawls, who are important thinkers for both cosmopolitanism and Şeyla Benhabib's understanding of cosmopolitanism, on the axis of world citizenship and how Şeyla Benhabib reinterpreted these thoughts. Finally, this section examines Şeyla Benhabib's understanding of Unillusioned Cosmopolitanism. In the conclusion section of the thesis, a discussion is made on whether cosmopolitanism is possible as an ideal.
