ABSTRACT“MISSIONARY ACTMTIES IN KIRGIZİSTAN AFTER THE INDEPENTENCE”An MA thesis submitted to the Institute of Social Sciences of Ankara University. Physical features: 100 pp. Presenter: Bakıt j^urcaraimoğlu Superviser: Prof.Dr. Mustafa Erdem My thesis consists of three chapters excluding introduction. In my work. I have tried to work out the missionary activities came about in Kırgızistan after the country had got its indepentence. After the country got its indepentence and democracy fostered there, a free vicinity came about for several.thoughts and beliefs. And this gave the opportunity to many different kinds of missionaries to propagete their ideas freely there. Within this framework, in orter to increase in number and to attrack people, they publish many books, pamplets and use radia broadcasting. And' even they exploit the poor conditions of the citizens to convert them to Christianity. These groups think a further 50 or 100 years and plan accordingly. We can classify these missionary groups into two as small and large ones. These groups are consisted of baptists. Adventists, Yahew Witnesses, Moons..Besides, there are some other small Christian groups. We, in our, thesis, using analitical and case study methods, tried to make out the current missionary situations in Kırgızistan with their aims, achievements and future prospects.
