135 16.SUMMARY Art inteligence and development of it has been continuing from history till now. Art, which gives an idea about nations personality, puts forward different understanding, opinions and thinkings and had been in the vanguard of nation of nations culture. This strueture had been shaped better when combined together with nations and the wolves made up the nations. Thus, during history art and artist term have been excepted by all sections of society. Therefore, pasihion of art and artist had became indispensible element in the public apinian. When painting taken info considration as an art, painter reflects, the feelings and ideas of individuals which make up nations. They come acrass an guide to the phylosophy of the society's life. Artists may come up individually from different social grups which make up nations. They sometimes may also come up from an economically recognined individuals. They reflect their feelings and a ideas and may take place in the art family. For instance; There are medicine persona who perform Turkish Art Music. There have been also valuable soldier artists who make painting and gave affehion to it. Aport from their profession, they put their feelings and ideas onto canvas. Therefore, they integrate with the society. This, put forward society's understanding of art. In this thesis knowing that soldier painters were the first examples of Turkish painting art, important works of these artists were investigated and given in an alphabetical order in the lights of document. Some criterios were also given about soldier painters in this thesis. They were inventigated in terms of their artistic rovelty, dificulties they had, education they got about painting, common characters during westernization, their role in artistic novelty in 19 th century, their subjcets in paintings and association they mode for soldier painters. These days, there are also several soldier painters which known in Turkey and in the world. Studies of this soldier painters were also subject of this thesis. All these valuable works done by soldier painters were examined and were aimed to known through this thesis.
