Özet
0.2. Özet Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, ortaöğretim kurumlarında coğrafya öğretmenlerinin etkili öğretme ve ders anlatmadaki yeterliliklerini tespit etmektir. Bu yeterlilikler, öğrencilerin coğrafyaya olan ilgileri, coğrafya öğretiminde kullanılan yöntem ve teknikler, kullanılan yöntem ve tekniklerin coğrafya öğretimindeki yeterliliği ile öğretme- öğrenme sürecindeki ilkeler kriter alınarak incelenmiştir. Araştırma, 1999- 2000 öğretim yılında Trabzon il merkezinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı Trabzon Lisesi, Kanuni Anadolu Lisesi, Anadolu Teknik Lisesi ve Yunus Emre Anadolu Lisesi'nden toplam 15 coğrafya öğretmeni ve 350 ortaöğretim öğrencisinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Coğrafya öğretmenlerine on sorudan oluşan yazılı mülakat, ortaöğretim öğrencilerine de yirmi dokuz sorudan oluşan anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Anketlerden elde edilen sonuçlar yazılı mülakat sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre, coğrafya öğretmenlerinin bazı hususlar dışında etkili öğretme ve ders anlatma becerilerine yeterli düzeyde sahip olmadıkları anlaşılmıştır. Özellikle öğrencilerin ilgileri, kullanılan yöntem ve teknikler ile öğretme- öğrenme sürecindeki ilkelerin kullanımında eksiklikler olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Kullanılan yöntemlerle ilgili olarak, coğrafyayı anlatım yönteminin yoğun kullanımından mutlaka kurtarmak gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Aynı zamanda coğrafî bir yöntem olan gezi- gözlemin uygulanabilir hale getirilmesini engelleyen faktörlerin ortadan kaldırılması gerekmektedir. Daha etkili bir coğrafya eğitiminin nasıl yapılabileceğine yönelik olarak, üniversiteler tarafından yeni etkili öğretme ve ders anlatma yollan geliştirilmeli, bunların etkililiğini ölçmek amacıyla bilimsel çalışmalar yapılmalıdır. 0.3, Summary The aim of this study is to determine effective teaching and proficiency in lecture of geography teachers working in high schools. These proficiencies were scoped interests of students to geography, methods and tecniques utilized in geography teaching, sufficiency of using methods and tecniques in geography education and rules in teaching- learning proccess. This investigation was carried out by 15 geography teachers and 350 high school students in 1999- 2000 education year in Trabzon High School, Kanuni Anatolian High School, Yunus Emre Anatolian High School and Anatolian Technical High School which are in Trabzon city center and depend on Ministary of National Education. A writing interview that contain ten questions and inquiry which include twenty- nine questions respectively. Results gained from inquiries were compared to writing interview results and evaluated. According to the results, it is understood that geography teachers don't have enough capability of effective teaching and lecture except for some subjects. Especially it was determined that there are some lacking in student interests, used methods and techniques and using of rules during teaching- learning. As a result, it is concluded that geography lecture technique must be simplified that is highly dense. Also excursion- observation method in geography have to be applied and blocking factors to this method must be eliminated. Universities should develop new effective teaching and lecture methods to achieve more sophisticated geography education, and also must be done scientific studies in there to evaluate successes of these developments. viii tCYÛKSnd?RCTtMlSUUP DOKÜMANTASYON
