Özet

Bu çalışma, Ludwig Wittgenstein‟ ın felsefesinin her iki dönemini de kapsamlı bir şekilde inceleyerek net bir karşılaştırma üzerinden Wittgenstein‟ da dil ve zihin ilişkini açıklamaya çalışmaktadır. Wittgenstein‟a göre, dilin sınırları içinde kalan ve dilin ifade edemediği veya yetersiz kaldığı kavramlar, düşüncelerimizin temelini oluşturur. Bu kavramlar, dilin gölgesi altında kalan zihin tarafından taşınır ve şekillendirilir. Dolayısıyla, dilin anlamı ve sınırları üzerine düşünürken asıl odaklanılması gereken noktanın dilin ötesindeki zihinsel gerçeklik olduğu açığa çıkar. Bu noktada çalışmada, Wittgenstein‟ ın erken döneminde kaleme aldığı“Tractatus Logico- Philosophicus”eseri üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu dönemde, Wittgenstein dilin mantıksal yapısını vurgular ve dilin sınırlarının düĢünceleri nasıl Ģekillendirdiğini tartıĢır. Ardından, Wittgenstein‟ın geç dönemindeki çalıĢmaları, özellikle de“Philosophical Investigations”adlı eseri ele alınır. Bu dönemde, Wittgenstein dilin kullanımını ve iĢlevini vurgular ve dilin zihinsel süreçleri nasıl etkilediğini inceler. Bu doğrultuda, Wittgenstein‟ın her iki döneminde de dil ve zihin arasındaki iliĢki derinlemesine incelenerek, dil felsefesinin ve zihin felsefesinin temel kavramlarını ve bu kavramların birbirleriyle nasıl etkileĢim içinde olduğu analiz edilmektedir. Bu analiz, dil felsefesi ve zihin felsefesi arasındaki organik iliĢkiyi anlamamıza bu sayede ise Wittgenstein‟ın yalnızca dil felsefecisi olarak değil bir zihin felsefecisi olarak da okunulabileceğini göstermektedir.

This study aims to provide a comprehensive examination of both periods of Ludwig Wittgenstein‟s philosophy, offering a detailed comparison to elucidate the relationship between language and mind in his work. According to Wittgenstein, concepts that remain confined within the boundaries of language or are inadequately expressed by it constitute the foundation of our thoughts. These concepts are carried and shaped by the mind, which operates in the shadow of language. Thus, when reflecting on the meaning and boundaries of language, the primary focus must be on the mental reality that lies beyond it. In this context, the study closely examines Wittgenstein‟s early work, Tractatus Logico- Philosophicus. In this period, Wittgenstein emphasizes the logical structure of language and explores how the boundaries of language shape thoughts. Subsequently, the analysis shifts to Wittgenstein‟s later works, particularly Philosophical Investigations. In this later period, Wittgenstein underscores the use and function of language, examining how it influences mental processes. Through a detailed investigation of both periods, this study delves into the relationship between language and mind, analyzing the core concepts of the philosophy of language and the philosophy of mind, and their mutual interaction. This analysis reveals the organic connection between these two domains, demonstrating that Wittgenstein can be regarded not only as a philosopher of language but also as a philosopher of mind.
