Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı; sleeve gastrektomi operasyonundan sonra hastaların tat ve duyu değişiminin beslenme durumları üzerine etkisini değerlendirerek multidisipliner çalışma gruplarına ve hastalara ameliyat sonrası beslenme yaklaşımları hakkında yol gösterici olmak ve literatüre bilimsel katkıda bulunmaktır. İstanbul'da bir kliniğe başvuran herhangi bir bilişsel ve işitsel problemi olmayan gönüllü 67 kişi örneklem grubunu oluşturdu. Tanımlayıcı ve ilişki kurucu retrospektif çalışmaya katılan kişilere ameliyat sonrası beslenmelerinin ve yaşadıkları tat ve duyu değişiminin sorgulanmasına yönelik anket formu (demografik özellikler, sağlık durumu, antropometrik ölçümler, beslenme alışkanlıkları, besin tüketim sıklığı, tat ve koku duyu durumu, fiziksel aktivite durumu) uygulanarak değerlendirildi. Değişkenlerle ilgili analizler için; SPSS Statistics 26.0 programı kullanıldı. Bulgulara bakıldığında, çalışmadaki katılımcıların çoğu; önlisans/lisans ve üstü mezunu (%65,7), kentte yaşayan (%98,5) kadınlardan (%82,1) oluşmaktaydı. Ameliyat öncesi ve sonrası beslenme alışkanlıkları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulundu (p<0,05). Öğün atlama, nedenselliği, ara öğün yapma, gece yemek yeme, asitli içecek tüketme bakımından süreçler arasında sırasıyla anlamlılık belirlendi ( p= 0,001, p= 0,01, p= 0,000, p=0,000, p=0,000; p<0,05 ). Ameliyat öncesi ve sonrası tat ve kokuya dair parametreler arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulundu (p<0,05). Hastaların acı tat ve tatlı tat algı seviyelerinin ameliyat öncesi ve sonrasında anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaştığı tespit edildi (p<0,05). Çalışmaya alınan kişiler tarafından ameliyat öncesi sevilirken, ameliyat sonrası tadı en sık sevilmeyen yiyecek yumurta olarak saptandı. Sonuç olarak; sleeve gastrektomi başta olmak üzere tüm ameliyatların fayda ve zararlarının anlaşılması için buna benzer daha ileri ve daha büyük popülasyonda çalışmalar yapılmasına gereksinim vardır.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of taste and sensory changes on the nutritional status of patients after sleeve gastrectomy surgery, providing guidance to multidisciplinary working groups and patients regarding postoperative nutrition approaches and contributing to the scientific literature. A sample group of 67 volunteers without any cognitive or auditory problems, who applied to a clinic in Istanbul, constituted the study sample. A survey form was administered to the participants, focusing on their postoperative diets, taste and sensory changes experienced (including demographic characteristics, health status, anthropometric measurements, dietary habits, food consumption frequency, taste and smell sensory status, physical activity status). Descriptive and associative retrospective analysis was conducted using the SPSS Statistics 26.0 program. The findings showed that the majority of the participants in the study were educated at the undergraduate/graduate level (65.7%), living in urban areas (98.5%), and female (82.1%). There was a significant relationship found between pre- and postoperative dietary habits (p<0.05). Significant relationships were determined between skipping meals, causality, snacking, nocturnal eating, and consumption of acidic beverages (p=0.001, p=0.01, p=0.000, p=0.000, p=0.000; p<0.05). There was a significant relationship found between pre- and postoperative parameters related to taste and smell (p<0.05). It was observed that patients' perception levels of bitter and sweet tastes significantly differed before and after surgery (p<0.05). Among the foods included in the study, eggs were found to be the least liked food after surgery, while being well-liked before surgery. In conclusion, there is a need for further and larger population studies, similar to this one, to understand the benefits and risks of all surgeries, including sleeve gastrectomy.
