Özet
Sinema tarihi boyunca üretilen birçok filmde görülen genel eğilim, içinde bulunduğu toplumsal ölçütleri merkezine alarak işlemek olmuştur. Genel estetik ölçütler ve yönetmenin subjektif müdahalesi filmlere bağımsız bir anlam kazandırarak ortaya çıkar. Bir film yapımındaki en yaratıcı unsur, yönetmendir. Yönetmenler içinde nispeten daha özel bir konumu olan Auteur yönetmenler ise kendi hikâyesini var eden, filmleri arasında tematik nüanslarla bağlantılar oluşturan, iç dünyasını özgün bir modelleme ile aktaran ve sinematik öğeleri şahsına münhasır anlatı aracı olarak uygulayan kimselerdir. Fransa'da 90'lı yıllarla birlikte ortaya çıkan ve Yeni Dalga'nın bir kolu olarak görülen Yeni Fransız Aşırılığı ya da Yeni Aşırılık akımı, günümüzde kendine özgü bir sinematografik biçim üretmiştir. Bu akıma dâhil edilen yönetmenler kameralarını tükenmişliği yaşayan karakterlere çevirmişler ve toplumsal yozlaşmayı en aşırı şekilde teşhir eden bir üslup benimsemişlerdir. Fransız Yeni Aşırılığının karakteristik özelliklerinden biri de renk ve ışık kullanımındaki tercihleridir. Bu tez çalışmasının merkeze aldığı ana sorunsal bu biçimsel tercihin etkilerinin ortaya koyulmasıdır. Bu doğrultuda Gaz Lambası filmi üzerinden, transagresif sanat, sosyotelizm ve distopya kavramlarının analizleri yapılmıştır. Böylece, bu tez çalışmasında aşırılıkçı anlayışa Türkiye perspektifinden yeni bir bakış açısı sunmak amaçlanmaktadır.

The general tendency seen in many films produced throughout the history of cinema has been to work by taking the social criteria at its center. The general aesthetic criteria and the subjective intervention of the director give the films an independent meaning. The most creative element in a film production is the director. Auteur directors, who have a relatively special position among directors, are those who create their own stories, create connections between their films with thematic nuances, convey their inner world with a unique modeling and apply cinematic elements as a unique narrative tool. The New French Extremism or New Extremism movement, which emerged in France in the 90s and is seen as a branch of the New Wave, has produced a unique cinematographic form. The directors involved in this movement turned their cameras on characters experiencing burnout and adopted a style that exposed social corruption in the most extreme way. One of the characteristic features of the French New Extremism is their preferences in the use of color and light. The main problematic that this thesis focuses on is to reveal the effects of this stylistic preference. To this end, the concepts of transgressive art, sociotelism and dystopia are analyzed through the film Gas Lamp. Thus, this thesis aims to present a new perspective on extremism from a Turkish perspective.
