Özet
ÖZET Tarih boyunca ve insanların en eski kültürlerinin zaman diliminde din, insan hayatının her tarafına yayılmış ve onun ayrılmaz bir vasfı olmuştur. Dolayısıyla nerede insan varsa orada dinin varolduğu söylenebilir. Bu tezde karmaşık ve zengin bir beşerî fenomen olan din Russell merkezinde incelenmiştir. Russell epistemolojik tutumu gereği dinle olgusal düzeyde Ugilenmiş ve mevcut dinlere daha çok eleştirel yaklaşmıştır. Dini, insanlar için zorunluluk olarak görmeyen Russell, insanı doğanın bir parçası kabul etmekte ve din olgusunun dünyadan çıkarıldığını söylemektedir. Ona göre, dinin kaynağı korkudur. Epistemolojik açıdan Agnostik olan Russell, pratik alanda ise kendisini ateizme daha yakın bulmaktadır. O, dinlerin ilgilendiği ahiret, Tanrı vb. konularda hakikatin bilinmesinin imkansızlığını veya eğer imkansız değilse bile, şu anda imkansız olduğunu düşünmektedir. Dolayısıyla, Russell'ın Tanrı hakkındaki fikri, O' nun muhtemel bilgi alanının ötesinde olduğu şeklindedir. O, Tanrı kavramını kabul etse bile, aslında bu kabul,“bir kavram”olarak kabuldür. Yoksa o kavramın doğruluğu, reelliği, olumluluğu anlamında değildir. Russell ahlâkla ilgili olduğu kadar dinle de ilgili olan“değerler”konusunun rasyonel kesinlikle ortaya konulabileceğine inanmamaktadır. O bir meta-etikçi olarak ahlâk yargılarını incelemekte ve teolojik etik'i gerek ahlâk ve gerekse din açısından zararlı bulmaktadır.

ABSTRACT Religion, during the most ancient cultures of human beings, spread all over the part of human life and became their unseparable character. Therefore, we may say that religion is present wherever there are human beings. In this thesis, we examined religion, which is complex and rich phenomena, as regards to Russell's views. Russell dealt with religion in the phenomenal sphere due to his epistemological standpoint, and held rather critical position to present religions. Russell, who considered religion as unnecessary thing for men, accepted man as a part of nature and held the view that the phenomena of religion was remowed from the world. He was of the view that religion was the source of fear. Religious Epistemological when we take his views into consideration, we can see him as an Agnostic, in his religious opinion and practically he felt that he was closer to atheism. He believed that it is impossible to know the truth in the religious matters which the religions dealt with such as eschatology, God etc Even if it is possible to know the truth, it is impossible for the time being thence, Russell's thought about Gos is that He is far a way from the sphere of knowledge. Although he accepted the concept of God, his acceptance was“a conceptual”acceptance. This does not mean that concept is true, real and positive. Russell did not believe that the subject of“values”, which is related both with Ethics and Religion, can be put forward in a rational certainty. He, as beign a meta-ethician, examined the ethical judgements, and found the theological ethics harmful both to Ethics and Religion.
