. ABSTRACT In the beginning of the study, the importance of agriculture, its characteristics, and the strategies in application in Turkey and EC have been compared. In the night of this study, it is attempted to evaluate the relationship between Turkish and EG agriculture in the process of.joining in 2C and the effects of Greece, Spain and Portugal's entrance to isC on Turkish agriculture. The results of the research can. be summarized as f ollov.s : The agricultural sector is very important in both the economy of Turkey and fie. î-ron the point of view of.agricultural characteristics EC countries are more developed than Turkey. Especially prodi;ciivity is higher in KC countries than in Turkey. The Turkish agricultural Policy has to be in co.nfor wity with. iSC policy. Today, the agriculture in KG* s facing the problems of excess in production, inequality in the agricultural income, high prices; and the problems related to the general budget and the relations', with the third world countries. On the other ' hand the necessary precautions have to be taken to adopt the.Turkish agricultural policy to İG policy..Vith this aim, a master plan h^s been developed and within the fi-nsr.e work of chia plan some research has been started. J3 o nines, it is necessary to make some detailed research at the uroduct level.It is also necessary to start a national policy that will ensure the adaptation of Turkey to İC. Within t; hi s process, it is also necessary to determine t lie relationships with Greece, Spain and Portugal.
