Özet
Müzik tarihinde Romantik Dönemin en önemli bestecilerinden biri sayılan Edward Elgar; konçerto, oda müziği, senfoni, kantat ve koro eserleri gibi hem enstrümantal hem de vokal müzik türlerinde pek çok sayıda eser yazmıştır. Eserleri özellikle İngiltere başta olmak üzere tüm dünya çapında seslendirilen ünlü besteci, besteciliğinin son döneminde mi minör tonalitesinde bir viyolonsel konçertosu bestelemiştir. Bu tez çalışması, romantik dönemin en önemli viyolonsel konçertolarından sayılan Edward Elgar Viyolonsel Konçertosu'nun teknik ve müzikal analizini ve icra tekniklerini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada sırasıyla romantik dönemin özellikleri incelenmiş, Edward Elgar'ın hayatı ve eserleri, Elgar Viyolonsel Konçertosu'nun tarihi hakkında bilgiler verilmiş; daha sonra eserin teknik ve müzikal analizi yapılmış, çalışmanın sonunda ise eser icra teknikleri bakımından detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Bununla birlikte eserin önemli kayıtlarının da bir incelemesi yapılmıştır. Yapılan bu çalışmayla Elgar Viyolonsel Konçertosunu icra edecek olan icracılara ve konçerto ile ilgili detaylı bilgi sahibi olmak isteyenlere bir kaynak sağlanmıştır.

Edward Elgar, who is considered one of the most important composers of the Romantic Period in the history of music; He has written many works in both instrumental and vocal music genres such as concertos, chamber music, symphonies, cantatas and choral works. The famous composer, whose works are performed all over the world, especially in England, composed a cello concerto in E minor tonality in the last period of his composition. This thesis study was carried out to examine the technical and musical analysis and performance techniques of the Edward Elgar Cello Concerto, which is considered one of the most important cello concertos of the romantic period. In the study, the characteristics of the romantic period were examined, information about the life and works of Edward Elgar and the history of the Elgar Cello Concerto were given; Then, the technical and musical analysis of the work was made, and at the end of the study, the work was examined in detail in terms of performance techniques. In addition, a review of the important records of the work was made. With this study, a resource has been provided for the performers who will perform the Elgar Cello Concerto and those who want to have detailed information about the concerto.
