Özet
Bu vaka çalışması müfredata bağlılığı kolaylaştırmak ve iyileştirmek için 11 İngilizce öğretmenine uygulanan bir kapasite geliştirme eğitiminin bulgularını sunar. Çalışma ayrıca Türkiye'de devlet okulu bağlamında İngilizce öğretmenlerinin müfredat bağlılığına dair kapsamlı bilgiler sağlar. Kaygı Bazlı Benimseme Modeli ve Kapasite Geliştirme kavramsal çerçeve olarak kullanıldı. Veriler Kaygı Evreleri Anketi, derinlemesine düşünme soruları, yarı-yapılandırılmış mülakatlar ve sınav kağıdı örneklerinin analizi ile toplandı. Türkiye çapında 149 öğretmenden toplanan veriler, öğretmenlerin mevcut müfredat hakkında kaygı duymadıklarını; kişisel kaygılarının müfredatın öğrenci öğrenmesi üzerindeki etkilerine ağır bastığını gösterdi. Araştırma müfredata yönelik formal eğitimlerin yetersizliği ve politika araçları arasındaki uyumsuzluğun yanısıra müfredatın bireysel ve toplu olarak anlamlandırılması, okul düzeyinde kurumsal destek, ve ölçmede birlik eksikliğini açığa çıkardı. Katılımcıların yansıtıcı yazıları müfredat algılarındaki olumlu değişime işaret etti. Altı katılımcının kaygı evreleri profili dirençli değil olarak değişirken, beş katılmcının profili dirençli kaldı. Sadece bir katılımcının profili ideal bir gelişim gösterdi. Araştırma öğrenme kazanımları, yazma ve konuşma becerilerinin öğretilmesi ve ölçülmesinin öğretmenler için bir zorluk alanı, cümle düzeyinde dilbilgisi öğretimi ve ölçmenin ise bir konfor alanı olduğunu açığa çıkardı. Müfredat yapılandırma haritaları ve müfredat mentörlerine duyulan ihtiyaç, ve eğitici eğitimlerinin etkisizliği iyileştirilmesi gereken hususlara işaret etti.

This case study presents the findings of a capacity building training administered to 11 EFL teachers to facilitate and enhance curriculum fidelity. The study also provides in-depth insights into the issue in the Turkish state school EFL context. The Concerns-Based Adoption Model and Capacity Building were utilized as the conceptual frameworks. The Stages of Concern Questionnaire, semi-structured interviews, questions for reflection and exam papers comprised the data collection instruments. The data collected from 149 EFL teachers across Turkey showed that the teachers were unconcerned about and resistant to the current curriculum; their self concerns outweighed their impact concerns. The study revealed the insufficiency of curriculum-specific formal training and the misalignment of policy instruments as well as the lack of individual and collective sense making out of the curriculum, school-level institutional support, and uniformity in assessment in the context. The participants' reflective writings throughout the training indicated a positive change in their perceptions of the current curriculum. While six participants' stages of concern profiles changed to not-resistant, five participants' profiles remained resistant. Only one participant's profile showed an ideal development. The study also revealed that the learning outcomes, and teaching and assessing writing and speaking skills presented a challenge zone to the teachers, whereas teaching and assessing grammar comprised a comfort zone. The need for curriculum configuration maps and curriculum mentors, and the ineffectiveness of“train-the-trainers”pointed out the areas that need to be improved.
