Özet
Bu tez çalışması; psikoloji, sosyoloji, siyaset ve nihayetinde sanat gibi pek çok farklı alanı etkilemiş olan bir 19.yüzyıl düşünürü olan Friedrich Nietzsche'nin felsefi düşüncelerinin çağdaş sinema alanındaki izlerini sürmek niyetiyle yola çıkmıştır. Çalışma böylesi bir çıkış noktasından temellenerek Friedrich Nietzsche'nin felsefi düşüncelerinin izlerini takip etmeye olanak veren çağdaş bir yönetmen olarak Christopher Nolan'ın filmlerine odaklanmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın temel amacı, eserlerinde anlatıya ve görsele dair karmaşıklığı bir arada kullanan, içe dönüşe sık sık referans veren Christhoper Nolan'ın inşa ettiği kurgu ve yarattığı karakterler ile birlikte Nietzsche felsefesinden nasıl yararlandığı ve filmlerine ne yönde dahil ettiğini keşfetmektir. Çalışma boyunca Christopher Nolan sinemasına ait olan ve içinde Nietzsche'nin felsefi kavramlarına referans içeren pek karakter ve tema barındıran ''Dark Knight'', ''Inception'' ve ''The Prestige'' filmleri, Nietzsche felsefesinin temelini oluşturan ''üst insan'', ''güç istenci'', ''efendi-köle ahlakı'' gibi kavramlar etrafında ele alınarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın ortaya koymayı amaçladığı nihai amaç ise, Nietzsche felsefesi ile Nolan'ın sinematik üslubunun örtüştüğü noktaları ortaya koyup, bu noktaların çağdaş sinema izleyicisine nasıl aktarıldığını göstermeye çalışmaktır.

This study sets out with the intention of tracing the philosophical thoughts of Friedrich Nietzsche, a 19th century thinker who influenced many different fileds such as psychology, sociology, politics and ultimately art, in the field of contemporary cinema. Based on such a starting point, the study focuses on the films of Christopher Nolan as a contemporary director who allows us to follow the traces of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophical thougts. In this context, the main purpose of the study is to discover how Christopher Nolan, who uses narrative and visual complexity together in his works and frequently refers to introspection, utilises and incorporates Nietzsche's philosophy into his films through the fiction he constructs and the characters he creates. Throughout the study, the films“The Dark Knight”,“Inception”and“The Prestige”, which belong to Christopher Nolan's cinema and contain many characters and themes referring to Nietzsche's philosophical concepts, have been analysed and discussed around concepts such as“Overman”,“will to power”,“master-slave morality”, which from the basis of Nietzsche's philosophy. The ultimate aim of the study is to reveal the points where Nietzsche's philosophy and Nolan's cinematic style overlap and to show how these points are transferred to the contemporary cinema audience.
