Özet
18. yüzyıldaki Fransız Devriminden sonra başlayan milliyetçilik akımı ile birlikte uluslar, köklerinin nereden geldikleri üzerine köken araştırmalarına eğilmişler, bu konuyu bilimsel bir temelde ortaya koymaya çalışmışlardır. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti de, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu döneminde araştırılmaya başlanan Türkistan araştırmalarına hız vererek, bu konuda ilerleme kaydetmişlerdir. Fakat 20. Yüzyılda yaşanan siyasi krizler (sıcak ve soğuk savaşlar), bu konudaki çalışmaları sekteye uğratmıştır. Özellikle Türkistan coğrafyasının arkeolojisi üzerine geçtiğimiz yüzyılın sonuna kadar herhangi bir çalışma yapılamamıştır. Eski dönemlerde yazılı kaynakların az olması sebebiyle bize bilgi sağlayacak arkeoloji veriler bölgeyi, tarihini ve kültürünü anlamamız açısından oldukça önemlidir. Bu yüzden tezinizde özel bir konuyla, belirli bir konuyu işlemeye çalıştık. Türkistan coğrafyasının önemli yerlerinden biri olan Yedisu bölgesinde dikilen Türk heykelleri üzerinde odaklanmaya çalıştık. Bölgenin tarihi coğrafyası ortaya konmuştur. Türklerde heykel dikme geleneği ve bu heykellerin ne şekilde isimlendirildiklerini belirtmeye çalıştık. Katalog oluşturarak oralardaki heykellerin ülkemiz bilim camiasına tanıtılması ilk amacımız olmuştur.

With the nationalism movement that started after the French Revolution in the 18th century, nations focused on the origins of their roots and tried to put this issue on a scientific basis. The Republic of Turkey has also made progress in this regard by accelerating the Turkestan researches, which were started to be researched during the Ottoman Empire. However, the political crises (hot and cold wars) in the 20th century interrupted the studies on this subject. In particular, no studies were conducted on the archeology of the Turkestan geography until the end of the last century. Due to the scarcity of written sources in ancient times, archeological data that will provide us with information is very important for us to understand the region, its history and culture. That's why we tried to deal with a specific topic in your thesis. We tried to focus on the Turkish statues erected in Yedisu region, which is one of the important places in the geography of Turkestan. The historical geography of the region has been revealed. We tried to indicate the tradition of erecting statues in Turks and how these statues were named. Our first aim was to create a catalog and introduce the sculptures there to the scientific community of our country.
